I came across a myspace yesterday that was to raise money and support for a baby.

The mother said she picked up her baby and he was listless. They accused the provider of SBS even though she stated the baby was sick all day. Right in their story it says the baby was fine the day before because he was at the doctors for a WBV.

All I could think of was I truly hope the child care provider was not wrongly accused.

CPS departments all over the United States are notorious for huge annual turnover rates. You'll typically find 40 - 95% annually depending on the city, county or state. I've even seen 100% annual turnover numbers. CPS vacancies are some of the most consistantly open jobs you'll find listed. People will last anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few years, but the few year people are rare. I contracted with CPS for 15 years, and I saw workers coming and going at an unbelievable rate. Families were constantly getting new case workers. CPS workers are overloaded with families and don't get paid squat.

In most cases, CPS workers are very poorly trained in my opinion. They have no idea what may be going on physically with a child and any relation to medications or vaccinations or anything of that nature. More often than not, the attitude of the case worker is guilty until proven innocent. I've seen the "I'm going to save this child no matter what" attitude hundreds of times. I've been in court and seen things that would boggle the mind of most people. The parents are looked at as evil and heaven forbid a parent admit to spanking a child. CPS workers are often fresh out of college, unmarried, without children and gung ho to help children. They have no idea of the nuances of life's situations. They become disillusioned quickly.

I was generous when I said 9 months. I've seen situations when it was less than that.

It's been several years since I looked into CPS turnover numbers, so I had to go through some old research.

Here is one article that describes up to 100% in annual turnover of CPS workers.

The references in this article provide more angles to research.

Here's another one. I found that in Arizona as a whole the average length of employment was about 11 months. This was for the on the ground CPS II positions. In some counties it was close to 100% turnover annually. In this article, it admits annual turnover numbers exceed 50%.

My point is CPS workers come and go like leaves in the wind. I've seen families have 3, 4, 5 case workers over a period of time, especially when the foster care system becomes involved. The continuity of care is a joke. The training is a joke. There is no way most CPS workers are going to figure out that an onslaught of toxins in the system, in the form of vaccines, may cause a physical deterioration. Not a chance that the thought would ever cross the mind of a vast, vast, vast majority of case workers.
