Generally, the nerd side of me loves this blog. But #2's commentary on this list burned my butter. How can the child be "way to into" breastfeeding?

Yeah, I think she's misreading the look on the mothers face. To me the Mama just looks really tired and is relaxing. The baby just looks like it's drifting off to sleep.
I like the painting personally :

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I wrote a comment...I think that painting is beautiful and really captures those moments when you just drift off while baby does too.

when i clicked the link it just showed a mardi gras beads bra lol. anyone have a link o the painting? i was hoping to upload it to a bf support group online if its nice. and i'm pretty sure the person who posted that isnt very intelligent.

My first was way into breastfeeding. This one, not so much. First she was sleepy and had to be coaxed. Then, I noticed reflux symptoms, cut dairy, still working on clearing that. But sometimes she still pulls off, screams, even though she's hungry, and I have to trick or coax her into nursing. I know of other kids who weren't very into nursing, did a lot of striking, self weaned early, etc. I don't think it's that far fetched.

A chance to close my eyes, relax, and listen to the waves crash, all while I know my child(ren) are occupied and not getting into some scrape I need to help them out of? Pure bliss. Maybe I should put that up on my wall.

I don't know about the "way into it" thing, but I'll admit that the painting is so not my taste!

I don't see it as so much 'anti breastfeeding" as "not to the taste of the blog writer." I can appreciate the "BF by the crashing waves? huh?" sentiment without putting too much stock into the comment about nursing.

I meant how can a baby be "way TOO into" breastfeeding. Of course they are going to be "way into" it but the TOO makes it sound like the baby's interest in eating is obsence or exaggerated.

I guess I'm just sensitive to the childless making ridiculous remarks about breastfeeding.

Well, the author is pretty clueless. The one below the panting "medival corset" is a link to a full gown and corset. What the author does not seem to understand is that rennisance corsets are far different than victorian corsets. They are not supposed to make that hourglass shape nor used to give a plus sized gal a smaller waist. They are supposed to give that tubular shapeless shape.

that tears it. breasts have been so sexualized that adults are protecting their own sexualization on children eating. : I know this smacks of the "Bratz" CEO saying that "adult eyes" are seeing a thong on the butt of a plastic doll but , ptth, thats how I feel

i have it on my bedroom wall!!! it was part of my inspiration wall while i was preggo (almost 8 months ago!) and i never took it down. it's gorgeous.

I have this on my living room wall - along with another of this artist's paintings - I love her work! (I guess I am a little melodramatic myself?). I loved this painting each time I came across it on etsy and finally had to get it - I especially love that is an older baby/toddler (and the baby reminds me of my ds!).

i tend to like more modern artwork on my walls, but the nursing pair in the painting look pretty spot on to me

That painting is actually on my favorites list, lol! It's awesome!

I'll bet she'd love my Etsy store, there's tons of boobs in my paintings.

I don't care for the style of the painting, but that mama and baby look about how ds and I do while nursing.

And my baby's only 7 mos but he's about that big. He's huge. Should I stop breastfeeding him now?
