I'm up to 4 BM's this morning and have had quite a bit of bloody show with lots of EWCM. We'll see!
: so excited for you!

PW: is stuff still happening for you?

Tara - that sounds very much like how my labors began

Just wanted to share that things were like that with DS1 and a friend had planned to take me window shopping and to dinner that night. So we went to Target (why do so many ppl go there in labor???) and then we went to a nice, rich Italian place for supper.

I ate my soup 1st course but could not touch my main meal... was just too distracted and my tummy felt full. But I enjoyed being out. When we got home I took a long bath while my friend cleaned my house and put DD to bed for me! It was after that my labor really picked up, and that lovely rich soup carried me right through it (my main dish was lovely as leftovers for lunch the next day )

So if you feel up to it, I would say still go out to dinner!

40 weeks 4 days here, and all the promising pre-labor action I felt last week and over the weekend is gone. I'm feeling totally bummed because everyone I know keeps saying "the wrong thing" --

"Today will be the day. I can feel it."
"Wow, you look huge! You're even bigger than last week!"
"How in the world is that baby going to come out of there? Har har."
"Huh, all my kids were early. Maybe you need to go for a walk."
"Maybe they can induce you!"

At this point I feel like a bad mom because I don't have the energy or the patience to play with my kids the way they want me to. My CNM scheduled me for an induction on the 10th, even though I'll only be 41 weeks that day. So the rational part of me says that's too soon to resort to such a measure, but the crazy, done-being-pregnant, feeling-like-a-grumpy-hippo part says bring it on. I just hope I can stay sane a few more days.

Well, on a positive note, happy labor vibes to all who need them! I love reading all the birth stories and seeing the pics of the new kiddos.

There are actually four of us that are having babies together. Two of my friends delivered this past week-end (one had a little boy and the other a girl) and my other friend had her c-section this morning! : So many babies all around and it's great because in Canada we get a whole year off for mat leave so we have a whole year to spend together!

That's so funny you said this..my last baby, we were at Target the day I went into labour and then we went out to dinner too! (But we went for Indian food)...an hour later I was in labour and 40 min. later baby was here!

Hmmm..I think I should go to Target again

Uh oh. I'm taking DD to Target today b/c I need a new clothes basket. (She and DH broke it by playing with her in it-- rides across the carpet, etc.) I'm not quite ready to have this baby yet, although it sounds like most of you are! I have yet to make my belly cast, and still have pics to take, and my pregnancy massage on Thursday. Still need to repack my bag, and the snack bag, not to mention the entertainment bag for DD. I also have a nice lunch planned with DH. DD arrived at 39 w 1 day, so I figure I still have-- 1 week!

The sensations at the top of my uterus last night made it difficult to get to sleep. It was definitely something new.

Tara- Happy Anniversary! Keep us updated. Anniversary babies are a tradition in our family: SIL was born the day after my IL's 1st anniversary; DD arrived 5 days after our 8th anniversary. Such a joyous time!

Happy napping today, mamas. It sounds like we need 'em.

Wow, I got in early... but we're chatty today!!!

I did eventually get back to sleep, though the only position I could tolerate in bed was on my back. Hips still feeling a bit like cement and my lower back is achey, but nothing like last night.

Feeling clingy
- Yeah, here too. I hate it that Dh has to go to work everyday. He's trying to wrap up a project that the baby needs to wait for though, so it's important he get as much work in now as possible. If he doesn't get it finished he won't be able to take off work for baby until it IS done. So I'm trying to realize I'll be MORE clingy after baby is here! But I think he's feeling like he doesn't want to leave me alone either, just little hints that he doesn't want to get too far from me.

ELV's to those who want them!!! And I'm sending them to Tara too, even though she has plans for dinner!

AAM: Prenatal went well with the midwives last night. Baby has switched from LOT to ROT and is even farther down in my pelvis. I didn't end up getting a vag exam, but I'm still curious. They asked me if I wanted this baby to come soon and I said, Oh no, not until after the 14th (for various reasons)... and they all kind of laughed. Then I realized that's in a week!! Eeek!

Planning on getting out and taking a walk to try and ease up these hips. Maybe a hot shower or bath first though, so I won't be doing my pregnant wobble hobble thing.

Oh dear, if DH reads this thread (and he lurks on here quite a bit), he'll be dragging me off to Target!

Things are picking up and I'm working through ctx now. Definitely gaining in intensity. I end up on my elbows and knees with every ctx, inhaling as i rock forward and exhaling as I rock back. It's working but I'm definitely working harder. DH should be home in a few min and my doula is leaving at 2pm (she lives 2 hours away). I'll try to update again later but the ctx are getting pretty frequent now so it takes more of my energy and attention.

Wow Tara! ELVs for you! This sounds like the real thing. :
Definitely sounds like the real thing Tara!!! :

And isn't it convenient that even if she doesn't update... that's kind of like an update in itself?! Cause then we know she's too busy having a baby to update us.

Yay, Tara! We're all thinking of you and sending you ELVs!

I can't believe how chatty you all are I never seem to be able to contribute or respond as much as I'd like to!

I had a dream last night that I was induced by my midwife at today's appt. and had the baby before my DH even made it to the hospital. That made today's appt. even more stressful! I've been dealing with high BP and some protein in my urine, so I am TERRIFIED of being induced! Turns out my BP is still high, but protein is fine and all my labs are fine. I am even GBS negative! : The midwife did say, though, that we need to get labor moving along as quickly as possible. My diastolic pressure keeps rising, and she's still worried about me actually making to my due date without an induction. She advised me to up my EPO, up my RRL tea, have lots of sex, and get acupuncture. She pretty much said to do anything possible to get labor moving along...expect castor oil. I didn't even think to ask, "Why not castor oil?" at the appt...any ideas? She also confirmed that baby has dropped, which was great to hear!

I hope all you mamas get more sleep in the coming days and nights...I have been sleeping surprisingly well lately!

ELVs to all who want them now!!! I almost can't believe October is upon us.
Woohoo Tara lots of ELVs!!!!

I spent the day catching up on some of the chores I want to know are up to date before baby gets here. Every week I've been deep cleaning the bathrooms, floors, etc thinking "this could be the last time I have the time to scrub this thoroughly for awhile"... found myself scrubbing the walls today lol. They were just retextured and painted in August, scuff marks are not what I want to see. It would probably be much better for me academically if I put this effort to distract myself into my classes instead.

I know how you feel. DH's company just moved a major system in-house (from having a 3rd party maintain it) over the weekend. My DH is IT so it's him and his dept. co-workers (not that many!) who are handling all of the issues arising. It's major and he has been so, so busy and having to put in so many hours. I keep telling the babe to wait until his due date so things have settled down some for DH.

But my braxton-hicks really picked up over the weekend (they're obvious to DH now) and I think he's starting to feel nervous. I'm starting to feel watched hah! He wants things to be settled and I really want them to be too. So he can pay attention to me... not work
