Bring Boppy to the hospital?

Did you/ Will you?

Since everything else is done, I am obsessing over little details now...

It's just so big and cumbersome, but being a FTM, should I try and use it from the beginning? I know some people don't even like them, and I suppose I will find out soon if I do!

Thanks!

As a first time mom and exclusively BF'ing, yes, I'll be bringing mine. I just think it'll help so much getting BF'ing going before going home. Much more comfy than using hospital pillows and it'll smell like us instead of a hospital.

I'd at least put it in the car. I use them with a lot of mamas when they nurse their babes in those first few hours post partum. Its a good idea to have it accessible, even if you don't end up using it.

I brought mine, it came in handy with nursing & sitting on b/c my bottom was a little sore the first day. I will bring it again.

I didn't bring mine for either of my deliveries and I won't this time either. I'm the type that brings as little as possible. I found using an extra pillow or propping the bed up was just as fine for the couple of days I was there.

This is a good suggestion.

I think the hospital where I'm delivering actually has the Brest Friend pillows on hand for mamas to use. I swear I remember my SIL, who is an LC there, saying that, but I don't know for sure. I guess I'll find out soon.

Anyway, having it in the car, so you can get it if you need it, is great idea.

Not in your ddc, but my hospital had boppys. Can you call and see if yours does?

I finally brought mine last time around, but I never used it. I'll be leaving it home this time. I don't plan on being there very long and I usually just use the hospital pillows to prop the baby for feeding.

yeah I would bring it and leave it in the car as well....this way dh can run down and get it if you feel you need it.

Nope Ive never taken mine but I only stay 24hrs ish after birth. I like to bf laying down and using a pillow works instead of a boppy. I know the room is clean but its still a hospital room I tend to leave my cloth stuff at home.

I'd bring it. I didn't use it the first few times nursing, but it really does help to sit on it. I used it as a little donut for the first few days of sitting upright.

Mine is sitting next to my hospital bag ready to be tossed in the car for "the big moment" :P Whether or not I'll use it, I don't know. But I'll have it in case I want to.

Not in your DDC, but I put mine in my post partum bag. I did a bag for baby, a bag for labor and a post partum bag. Mine wasn't a boppy though; it was much smaller and fit better.

I tossed that same idea around for a while. I couldnt decide but I think no. I already have a suitcase w/ all my main stuff in it AND the hospital said to bring extra bed pillows since they often run low and he will be bringing his camera in its bag and his laptop in its case PLUS the baby's bag. We are going to look ridiculous walking in with all this stuff. We have:

Suit case
Baby's bag
Laptop
Camera
Pillows
