And if so was there any complications with the baby?
My first was born normally at home, at 36wk 3days--and she was fine. Have known many other 36-37wk babies born just fine since then (my eldest is now 30).

My last was 37 weeks and no problems whatsoever.

my 3rd was 34 weeks and 5 days, my last was 35 weeks 1 day recieved betamethasone (steriod) shots, and both had RDS (respiratory distress syndrome) and were in the NICU for over a week. My 3rd also had blood pressure problems. Although they were good sizes 6 lbs. 2 oz. and 6 lbs. 7 oz. they were still sick.

I was induced for a medical reason at 37wks 1d and my son was born at 37wks and 3d and there were no problems. He was 7lb 12oz and just fine.

my first two were born at 37 weeks, nice fat healthy babies.

Mine was born at 36w, was 6lb 2oz - he had issues nursing at first, and was very sleepy the first month. He's now 3.5 years and still nursing, and has no issues.

Both of my babies were born between 36-37 weeks and were fine.

Ds2 was 37 weeks. He was just fine. Definitely had some signs of prematurity, but no problems breathing.

Is there a reason that you think you may go early?

My son was born at 33 weeks on the dot. My waters had broken at 30 weeks. Thankfully, I didn't go into labor on my own and he got a few more weeks on him before we had to induce because he started to not do well with so little fluid.

He had to stay in the NICU for 3.5 weeks, but had no major complications, was what they call a "feeder grower" and just needed to get strong enough to come home.

Now he's 5 months and is doing beautifully, getting chunky and smiling and cooing and laughing all the time!

charis4,

I can not move without BH CX's and some sort of pain or discomfort. I had my last at 38 weeks and didn't have this kind of "drama". I just can't imagine going to much longer.

My last was born at 36 weeks, she had (still has) breathing problems, and severe jaundice.

My DS 1 was born at 36 weeks 4 days. Perfectly healthy. He weighted 1 ounce under 7 pounds. My 39 week 4 day DS2 was only 5 oz bigger. I think the dates were wrong but the doc insists that it was the correct dates according to the 18 week ultrasound. Both my boys had jaundice but it cleared up on it's own without supplementation or light therapy, just lots of nursing.

I was born at 37 weeks, no problems other than my mom suffered an abruption during labor (not related, though that may have been why she went early).

My second was born at 37 weeks, 1 day, and had absolutely no problems, great nurser, only a little jaundice, no breathing issues, and she weighed over 10 lbs--which I think is why *I* went into labor then!

Donna- I hope that your pregnancy discomforts fade and that the rest of the pg goes by really fast! Those last couple of months can be no fun! My first son was full term and I remember it lasting forever. Good luck with everything.

My son was born at 37 weeks and he was perfectly healthy. He was already 8 lbs. 4 oz, so I think he was ready to come!

I had BHX from 12 weeks on (no kidding..) and lost my mucous plug at 33 weeks (and it kept regenerating and falling out) and walked around at 4-5cm, 100% effaced for 3 weeks and DD was born at 38w6d - I had ctx 5 minutes apart for days and didn't realize when I actually went into labor because of this. I know how hard the last few months are, but just wanted to give you some hope that you can have lots of BHX and still go full term.

Both my children were under 38 weeks. First was induced for pre-e (I was having kidney issues) and the second came on his own at 37 weeks exactly.

Of course, I told him to come because it was a perfect day to have a baby, he agreed I suppose.

Anyhow, both children were more than 7.5 lbs and zero issues. Well, not true. First couldn't/wouldn't BF but I also was swollen and I think the induction may have played a part. Second came out rooting for my breast and latched like a champ.

I didn't read all of this....

My second pregnancy I had MUCH more BH CX's. I also could not walk for more than a couple minutes before they started. He also dropped at 32 weeks. My midwife and I knew that he probably wouldn't go to 40 weeks. In fact, at the last appointment she said see you this weekend with a wink. I had the baby that Monday. He was actually almost 8lbs so I think he was done cooking and came on his schedule.

I didn't have much for contractions, but I had awful gallbladder pain and back pain with my pregnancy.

My water broke at 34 weeks 6 days. We had planned a home birth, but went to the hospital. Dd was fine. She was 19 inches and 5 pounds 2 ounces. Her lungs were fine. She was pretty red, so they were a little worried, but she was okay...now I think the red was just her complexion. She turns red at the drop of a hat!

She was a little bit of a slow nurser, but my mama (a midwife) was just saying to me the other day that she wasn't worse than many full term babies.

She was also jaundiced, so we had a bili blanket at home. After some of the things I have read here, I wish I had known more about biliruben and jaundice beforehand because some of the treatment she received may not have been necessary.

The long and short of it is that she was early and fine. She regained her birth weight quickly and was 9 pounds 6 ounces by six weeks.
