Menactra and other meningitis questions

ok, i'm scared to death of meningitis. i have been contemplating getting my son the HIB vax as well as the pneumo and meni. tell me why it's not necessary. what about Menactra? if i got him the Menactra shot, would that eliminate the "need" for the other shots?

please help me. lol

The thing is, you can get meningitis from lots of different bacteria, not just the ones they have vaxes for. Meningitis is just a regular old infection that got into the wrong place.

I hope you will read it. There is a lot of good information in it.

Also please read this blog. You will see that vaccines don't protect you against most bacteria that can cause one of the diseases you are afraid of.

The best way to avoid any of them is to use pretty decent nutrition and when you do have an infection, let the fever do the job it is supposed to do. Don't medicate. Use Vita C, liquids and rest.
