Anyone know of a 'natural' type shoe?

For years I've worn converse low-tops. And though I love those (wouldn't buy the converse brand of them anymore since they are made in sweat shops) I feel like they aren't the best support for feet. Does anyone know of a good, natural shoe? Natural as in...the type of support that feet were intended to have.
Also, natural, while still as "stylish" as the aforementioned low-tops. I hope that natural doesn't mean looking totally hokey and lame. :

what about simple?

Yep, I was going to suggest Simple, but acupuncturemomma beat me to it! They're offering some great eco-friendly options these days.

Patagonia also started a shoe line a couple of years ago, and they look pretty nice (and they're definitely eco friendly).

Now, in terms of a natural FIT: Earth Shoes, Birkenstocks, and clogs (like Dansko) are my faves, though they're all a bit hit or miss in the style dept

Simple shoes are glorious. So so comfortable! I have clogs (for outside) and slippers (for inside) made by them and they're hands down my favorite shoes.

I LOVE my Birkenstocks! I have worn them almost exclusively since the mid-90's. Here is a photo of my newest pair:

Wonderful Shoes. Whatever brand you decide to try, go to a store and try some on, then come back on-line and google those particular shoes. You can almost always find them cheaper that way, even after shipping.

How do their sizes run?

I have worn Birks for years and just started wearing earth. I have to say earth are incredible.
I've heard that Simple runs big.

I have had a pair of birks for around 7 years now, and could quite possibly get 7 more out of them.

I also really like Keen...they have some made from recycled materials that are stylish, and SUPER comfy. a little $$ though, but you do get what you pay for.

It looks like the Simple shoes don't come in wide widths?

I have a pair of Simple shoes I'm looking to sell. If any of you know anyone in need or want of a pair but for less, hit me up! They were a gift, and I wore them once but they're just not "me". They're like almost $100, too, so I hate to just have them sitting here not going to good use.

They're these:

After I switched to Croc style shoes, anything with a stiff sole makes my feet/ankles hurt. My shoe requirement is that it has a flexible sole that moves with my feet.

(sole, that is the right spelling? not soul, right?)

Patagonia makes a really cute indoor slippery thing with a rubber bootie sole thing that slips over for going outside. They are spendy, but green and fashionable (er, at least I think so, but I'm more a practical type, myself).

And they make other shoes, too.

Also, consider (if you have small feet) buying green shoes in a kid size that will fit adult feet. (I'm a size 7-8 and do this with Keens. SOOO much cheaper, esp with a sale at nordstroms)

One of the most comfortable (and cute) pairs of shoes I've ever owned (actually I have two, because I needed a new pair while my old pair is (still) sitting around waiting for me to take them to a shoe repair person after literally wearing all the way through the sole from wearing them every day) is a pair of sandals by Think.

They have a cork footbed so they mold to your feet, they're really high qaulity shoes, all natural materials, and sooo comfy. The only reason I don't have more pairs and only have sandals, is that their prices are.... way beyond my budget, but my mom got them as gifts for me. The sandals are less expensive than the shoes though. the pair I have is the julia 84333, so cute and comfy!

This is my question too. None of these seem to come in wide widths... or am I missing something?
