in home daycare mamas! A question please?

Do you have a seperate playroom for daycare kids? Or do your daycare kids play in your kids room(s)?

I am leaning towards having a seperate playroom because I want to keep my kids fave toys in their room so they can be "safe" from the daycare kids getting them.

I hope that way will give my own children a sense of privacy in their own home, you know?

What would you do in this situation?!?

My son is only 18 months, but he has started getting to the point where he really needs some of his toys to be "his". If my daycare kids start playing with some of his favorites, he gets super mad and tries to take them away from them. I have started keeping those things out of reach until they go home, and then they come out. So far it is just a few cars and his bike, but I am sure it will be more as time goes on.

As for keeping them in a seperate room, I plan to not let daycare kids go up into his room unless he wants to invite them up there when he is old enough to play there without me. Right now, there are no toys in his room, because he plays in the living room with me present, and sleeps in my bedroom, which also does not have toys in it to reduce the temptation to play rather than sleep when we are there.

I think that kids all need to know that some of their things are really special and they can choose to not share them if they want. I don't see it as being selfish, but as really being attached to certain toys. If they eventually want to share that toy, then they can, but I don't see any reason to force it on them.

We have a big playroom on the first floor where most of the toys are. The toys in there are communal, as they are for our kids and the daycare kids. There are some things that the kids keep in their rooms that they don't have to share.
