Sharp pains in cervix?

Nothing major that is alarming me, but a few times yesterday and today I have experienced some *gasp* moments, just for a sec. They feel like they are in my vaginal canal, I assume my cervix, and are this pinching jab. Is this my cervix dialating? I have been preparing for contraction type pain, and didn't anticipate this kind!! Just want to make sure it's "normal" (whatever that means...) I am not feeling any contractions...

Hoping this means something is happening!

I have heard a lot of woman say they feel these type of pinching feelings, so it's probably normal.

But......I had them very severe the day before I went into labor. They happened every few minutes or so and even when teagan was sleeping. I couldnt set out of bed because the pain from standing upright on my cervix.

I actually asked about this at my appointment today! I was told that it's the baby moving her head around on my cervix. She said even though there's not much room left for Smudge to move she's got plenty to press and wiggle her head against my cervix.

I've been having the same pains for a couple of weeks! Ouch! I've had to stop while walking in a store or a parking lot just to catch my breath. I also talked to my mw today, and she said it could be a lot of things--probably effacement or baby moving her head around. Rest assured--it's normal!

Yep! I totally have these cervical twinges/pinches. They take my breath away too. I think they are doing something, whether it is effacement or dilation, I don't know. But something is happening. They can be briefly very painful, though! I try to practice my relaxation and breathing.

I get them too! I'm not sure if they are doing anything other than making me uncomfortable though.
