Pattern Help for Coffee Cozy

I am a basic knitter and need some help with a pattern I picked up tonight at AC Moore.

It is for a basic coffee cozy that is knit with BERNAT FELTING WOOL. It is knit flat (not in the round) and then stitched up.

The first part of the instructions are fine:
"Cast on 32 sts. Stocking st for 2 inches ending with a purl row."

Okay, I"ve done that part. Now for what I don't understand:

" Next row: (Inc 1 st in next st K7) 4 times. 36 st.
Cont even for 4 ins. total length.
Cast off."

What I don't understand is the part in parens. I get that I should end up with 36 sts but it seems to tell me to do something more than just cast on four more sts.

Also, do you think the whole piece should be just four inches or should I knit four MORE inches for a total of six inches?

FYI: Once this is done and sewn up, I then felt it.
Thanks for your help!
I want to make this for my coffee-loving sister that I am visiting this weekend!

The increase row would be (kfb, k7) (kfb, k7), (kfb, k7), (kfb, k7)

It says 4 total inches length which I interpret as being your final unfelted measurement.

Thanks for the quick response but here's the next question from me, the knitting dummy.

What is and how do you kfb?

Oh, I did some online research and found a video showing me what to do.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
