Silver Fillings?????

I just came back from the dentist and ds1 (4 y/o) has a cavity on each of his back molars (4 in total). One looked pretty serious.

We knew we had 2 last year and I started with bone broths, flouride toothpaste, and some raw dairy (doing our best with WAPF). But obviously things got worse than better.

They recommend fillings which I was feeling fine about until they said they only do silver fillings!!!!!!!!!! Should I call and ask about options? What are my options? I searched and found something about composite resin. Should I find someone who does those?

Please do not put mercury-containing fillings into your child's mouth. I have a lot of posts in the Chelating Mamas thread about all the work I am doing with my health and with my children due to my amalgam (silver) fillings.

I now have composite fillings in my teeth. My understanding is that it does take practice and experience working with composite in order to really feel comfortable with it, but there are dentists around who are knowledgeable and able to do this.

As an aside--were you supplementing the fat-soluble vitamins as well? The A, D, and K2? It may be past the time for that (as a solution to your current problem, I mean), I'm in no position to judge, but for overall health and future dental problems, it's something to consider (I use Thorne's K2 instead of butter oil, it is more economical, in addition to CLO).

Anyway, best wishes finding someone knowledgeable with composites!

You need the K2 as well. Butter oil has it in fairly large amounts, but we use the Thorne, it's a synthetic supp (if that matters to you). The vitamin k yahoo group has more experience--they use it for different purposes, but several members have reported dental benefits.

ditto this....the fat soluble vitamins are necessary. You can't skimp on the K2.

Ditto on the no mercury. Find a dentist who can do composite fillings. They are easy to find.
