Oprah wants extended breastfeeders!

I don't know if it was posted or not. It looks like they are looking for people who are confused if nursing an older baby is OK or not.
I figured we could all respond and let her know how we feel.

Beats me. I'm 39 and will probably have long hair for many years to come.

Well, true to form, my urge to run my big mouth won I just submitted what I hope is a great letter on her website.

Funny. I just sent the letter with a link to my nursing photos, and today I received some very nasty comments in my gallery.

I am hoping it's purely coincidental.

For anyone who may get on the show, you can bring in a copy of The Black Woman's Guide to Breastfeeding.

Rats, the page is either down or they aren't accepting submissions anymore.

I submitted my comments...

I said I would be willing to be a guest as long as they had "experts" on the panel supporting extended bf'ing. Kind of felt compelled to enter myself, but kind of nervous about being invited on the show, IYKWIM. Hopefully this will be a good eye-opener.

I felt that I had to enter too. I'm worried that I'd be invited and it would be a show where they bash extended breastfeeders.

I wrote in! I'm hopeful that a show could be positive or at least take a neutral stance.
Hopefully they don't have "experts" saying how "dependant" extended bf'ing makes a child or bring up dental issues.

I submitted. I doubt I'll get chosen since they seemed like they were looking for people who were questioning whether they should still be nursing, and were maybe facing rude comments from family/friends. My submission was all happy go lucky "breastfeeding is going great and my friends/family are all supportive!" kinda theme.. lol. I did say that I plan to let her self wean and that I'm pregnant and plan to tandem. Maybe they'll think that's interesting. Now I could be wrong.. but Oprah doesn't seem like the kind of show that would have a guest being in support of a given topic, then twist it to make said guest look crazy... I mean, I've seen an episode where.. I forget who it was, but a woman who murdered her children, and Oprah was overly kind to even HER. The questions were more..seeking to understand her feelings, vs confrontational. Now if this were dr phil, I don't think I'd be responding!!! hahaha
