2nd or 3rd timers, when did you start to show?

This is pregnancy #2 for me. I'm nearly 5 weeks along and wondering if my pouchy tummy is me already showing. All my pants and skirts are already feeling tight. Didn't happen first time around. Is this to be expected?

In my second pregnancy, I hauled my box of maternity stuff out of the closet somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 weeks, and was fully in only maternity (pants at least) by 8-10 weeks. At first I was horrified, but then I decided to just roll my eyes at all the twins comments and just embrace the extra month or two of comfort and knowing smiles from people when out in public!

I recently asked this of a friend of mine who is due at the end of this month with her 2nd. She said with her first she held out until 5 months and with her second it was 8-10 weeks.

It sounds like we'll be breaking out the materinity clothes sooner rather than later. I have my eye on her stash!

I am 5 weeks tomorrow and I am still ok in my regular clothes but I have my doubts as to how long that is going to last...

Last pregnancy I was wearing maternity clothes at 6 weeks. I could button my pants, but not comfortably.

With ds I bought maternity clothes at 9 weeks (out of excitement), but I do not think I needed them until 4-5 months.

Not sure how it will go this time. My jeans were already tight around my belly (because I had at least 10lbs to lose), and I hate squishing my belly now. I wore my maternity jeans the other day, but more because they are comfy then out of necessity.

This is my 5th pregnancy, but will be my third kid. I'm 5-6 weeks now and all of my jeans are too tight. I have to leave them unbuttoned most of the time. I tried on some of my maternity pants from last time but they're still a bit too big!

Thanks Ladies. I thought so. Oh well. I guess I'll be buying some maternity clothes next week. I got rid of all my mat pants from last time because I hated them by the end of the pregnancy. Heh.

I'm at five weeks and my pants are getting snug already (baby #3). With my last pg, I was in maternity clothes at about six weeks. I think, though, it's really due to all the food I've been eating. I'm constantly hungry. Too bad I bought five new pairs of size eight pants last week.

Noooo! This is my fourth child and I think with my last two I was in maternity clothes by 10 weeks or so. I'm so scared that I will be buying some clothes within the next couple of weeks already (almost starting my fifth week).

With #1, I was in maternity pants at 8 weeks. With #2, I was in maternity pants at 5 weeks. I'm only 4 weeks now, and my jeans are fine... feeling a bit snug at times, but not uncomfortable enough to need to unbutton yet. Give me a week.

It's all bloat though, not really "showing". I don't show until MUCH later. I think by 14 weeks or so, I had a decent belly showing last time and actually needed maternity tops, whereas I didn't need them until after 24 weeks with #1.

I find that I need maternity shirts to cover up my maternity pants. I have a hard time finding shirts that do cover up that band no matter how I shift around.

ug. i'm on #2 and not wearing maternity pants yet but I am living in my "fat pants" to deal with the insane amount of bloating. :

Good point. I will probably have the same problem, since this time I'm not wearing big frumpy T-shirts much anymore, and instead of the normal length nice Tees, which only go maybe to my hips, if that. Definitely wouldn't cover up a maternity panel!

Sometimes you can find maternity pants that are stretchy material with no panel. Those are good for the early days too. I had a pair from Motherhood with #1 and they were great. Didn't fit the whole pregnancy, but they were good for the first couple trimesters.

Yeah, I had a few of those. I hated them. They were always falling down. They also have pants with no panel at all. They have a stretch waist band in the back. They do not look like maternity pants at all. I just cannot find any of those in petites.

My Target does not have them, nor does the online store.

I put on just under 10 lbs. in the past year as DD lessened nursing and my cycles got back to normal. So my pants were already mad tight in the belly. Now @ 5 wks. I swear it is bloat-central!!! I can't STAND wearing anything other than old sweats. I feel like a world-class slob, but I feel better. 1st pregnancy I weighed same as now but not nearly as bloated. I didn't show to most people until about 6 mos. This time, who knows? My sis, who has a son a year behind my DD, was loaned all my maternity clothes...but she beat me to conceiving the 2nd and is 2 mos. ahead of me! So I'll need to get back my half of the clothes! (Ha ha-just like high school!!!)

That's my story, too. I have weak abs from the past pregnancies and they just don't hold the bloat in like in my pre-baby days.

I was in mat pants at 14 weeks or so with #1 and by 7 or 8 with #2. I'm expecting to break them out this time as soon as we announce. Soon, I hope! LOL

I don't have my maternity clothes. I got rid of them thinking we were done. Silly me. I should have learned from the last time we did that. Now I need all new clothes and we have no money, since DH just took at job for $4 less an hour! Oh, well. I bet once I tell my mom she'll be more than thrilled to take me shopping and we have a Motherhood Maternity at our outlet mall. I see they have those secret belly pants, or whatever they're called, that look oh-so-comfy!

The secret belly pants are AWESOME!! I have a pair
