Jewellery Designers - How Do You Present Your Craft To Stores?

Hi There!

I am asking for my sister as her current method drives me nuts! When she approaches store managers to hopefully sell her jewellery (necklaces, bracelets, earrings), she has everything in individual little baggies which are then put into a nice basket. You can imagine how time consuming it would be taking them out one by one! I'm on a mission to find her a more effective, attractive and not to mention professional way to promote her craft! What works for you?

Thanks!

Hi, I used to work in a fine jewelry store and we used to have to pack up the store every night and would would put all of our chains in jewelry rolls like these. There are other ways but I agree with you that her way is to time consuming. They are not necessarily attractive but maybe she could sew something similar? Especially if she has a snap press to make her own loops (talking about the chain rolls).

Hope this helps

I don't have tons of experience, but so far, I've found that consignment shops, etc. don't necessarily want to look at every piece of jewelry. I usually take in just a few items in, and display them on a nice tray lined w/fabric. I might take a few extra items in the baggies as you described...just in case they ask about something different. (I stash them under the fabric!) It's also good to have prices clearly marked or written down...so there's little negotiation w/the store owner. Good luck to your sister!
