Morning!
Had a good night last night. Got my kids to bed (can I just say that I love that my kids go to bed by 6:30 pm!) and decided to leave DH at home while I went out to have a night of pampering. I went and bought a book, a box of chocolates and a yummy decaf Mocha with a shot of hazelnut...yummy! I came home, had a bath and snuggled into bed for a night of chocolate and reading. Unfortunately, I stayed up until midnight reading so I'm pretty tired this morning but it made me feel so much better. Nothing worse than feeling sorry for yourself.
DH is working this morning but will be home by noon and I get to go out by myself again...mind you it is just to go to my OB appointment but still, it is a Mama outing all the same.
I'm hoping to hear of some babies arrivals today! ***TARA!!!***

I have decided Im not going to bother with my bed till the baby comes. I sleep SO much better on my sofa. Its PERFECT I put a pillow at either end and have the one for my knees. I just pivot from one end to the other without having to move my butt!!! My belly falls in the perfect support position.

Good morning. I think I need more sleep, but my head is spinning b/c I decided to have my friend over to lunch today. I don't entertain much, and she hasn't been here in 5 years. Still, she has offered to play surrogate grandma b/c we don't want to call out of town visitors (read my parents or ILs) in to take care of DD while I'm in labor, if needed. So, she volunteered, and has time on her hands b/c she just retired from where we worked together for 7 years. She is bored. I might need her. Therefore, here she comes to lunch, and my head is spinning.
Let me run the menu by you: I am reheating a lovely potato leek soup from VT magazine (minus the horseradish) that I made on Sunday. We'll also have a salad with baby lettuces, pears, goat cheese and walnuts, with a pear or pomegranate vinaigrette. I'll offer paninis too for DD, and for us if she wants them. She just got back from an Aryuvedic retreat two weeks ago, so I hope she can eat some of what I fix. That's part of what's worrying me. Then, I have decided we'll dine at the table instead of the couch, but I've not used the table in a year (it's covered with construction materials in the addition) so I have to get that ready to go too.
My house is relatively clean, but DD was left to her own devices last night b/c I wanted to watch the debate, and so her toys are everywhere. It's not too much to get done, all in alll, but my mind is spinning about order, absolute necessity, and what I can start prior to 6 a.m.
I went to Target yesterday-- no labor-- whew! Also, had a great lunch with DD at Red Robin, and then off to the midwife. I'm plugging along.
Well, the mess awaits, and I'm anxious, so I'm off MDC for the morning.
Have a good day everyone. ELV's to those who need it, and keep posting those babies!

nothing to report here. im just going to c&p from the "overdue club".
41 weeks 2 days. Last night i really thought i was going to have a baby..the contrax were pretty intense and if i tried to ignore them, they were painful. I had to get into my head space in order to allow them to flow over me and not hurt...but in order to do that, i have to convince myself im going to have a baby. It was a delimma for a few hours. I finally succumbed to them and they tapered off and I fell asleep.
I said i would not worry until 42 weeks but that statement is coming back to bite me...all these stupid crazy thoughts keep popping in my head.
I have a chiro appt and a massage today at 10am and then i need to come home and clean the house AGAIN (my kitchen floors seem like magnets right now for dirt...argh!!!).
Other than that i have nothing to do...i am trying to knit hats for friends b/c knitting baby stuff makes me want to cry.

Oh, and DP is working from home this week...wanting me to go into labor so he can STOP working and start paternity leave...he keeps looking at me when i have a contrax that stops me in my tracks. He said something about baby coming last night and I told him if he doesn't stop he's going to be put on the "do not call" list too! lol!

Warning - a little TMI...
Well, I'm pretty sure at this point that DS brought home some intestinal bug from school. He's had some pretty loose BMs, not quite runny, but loose nonetheless. I've been dealing with the same, but figured it was just end-of-pregnancy stuff or IBS, but it wasn't very crampy like my IBS usually is. This morning, DH woke up and said his intestines weren't feeling too hot. And I started getting the crampiness with everything else. Great. Now I get to disinfect the house from some unknown bug before the LO's arrival. When sickies invade our house, I tend to show no mercy. Away go the green cleaners and out comes the Clorox and Lysol. Oh well, at least my bathrooms will be spotless. But BLECH, I hate sickies!
TMI rant over.
I have my MW appointment at 10AM and fingers crossed, they tell me I'm negative for GBS. DS came just a bit too early last time, so I hadn't received the test yet and they treated me as if I were positive. Pushed penicillin does NOT feel good AT ALL. It was cold and it burned going in. I would like to avoid that this time around. I'm also hoping to not have gained a ton of weight, but my body is in starvation mode (thanks to the above issue...) and just like when I have a bad IBS episode, I know my body is holding on to every last calorie I consume. *sigh* Maybe one for two will be okay this week.

good morning! i love talk of chocolates in bed, couch sleeping, yummy gourmet soups for lunch, visitors, and mamas staying upbeat!
i am now 40 weeks, 1 day.
i am determined to have a positive, lovely day. the weather is too nice.
errands, beach walk, and then making some turkey burgers on the grill for dinner!
all this while fielding "anything yet?!" calls from excited family and friends. I am trying to be nicer to everyone. i know they are just excited, i have to stop snapping at people. i just don't think THEY should be the ones who get to be impatient!
i hope everyone has a beautiful day!

LOL...I'm not even to my due date yet (next week) and I'm already annoyed by all the "haven't you had the baby yet" phone calls. I actually just got off the phone with my MIL who called to see if the baby has arrived yet and if we just forgot to call
LOL |
Um, when she comes! It's funny to get most of the comments from those who've JUST had babies, as if they don't remember how annoying it is? And for the record, I never once said a thing to any of them b/c I know what that's like!

yeh, as if you wouldnt tell them. argh!!
i have ONE friend who doesnt call to ask taht Q. so i send her my daily updates....i dont send them to anyone else!!!
i told one friend "if you keep asking me im going to stop taking your calls"
at 41 plus weeks, i just have no patience for that type of behavior! lol!
luckily i told our families October (original EDD was 9/29) and didnt tell them a date...so they understand i do NOT want to be called. DP's mom calls weekly (on Sundays) so i still have a bit more time before that phone call and i think she missed this last Sunday b/c she was out of town.

Good morning! Not a lot going on here. I'm noticing what I suppose may be bloody show this morning. I had an exam yesterday, though.
DH made a HUGE pot of veggie soup to add to our PP meals (and for me to have during labor should I want some). It smelled really good, but he fed me chili for dinner (he's still feeding me spicy food hoping I'll go into labor). He also made a valiant effort at painting my toenails during the debates while I gave myself a manicure.
Orionbelt: Sounds like you had a great evening last night! I know what you mean about the annoying phone calls. I hate to talk on the phone at all, and now I'm getting these phone calls. It's annoying!!! Also my little brother texts me DAILY!
audsma: Please take it easy over there! I'm sure your friend won't mind a few toys or eating on the sofa. Focus on enjoying her company once she's there, instead of trying to get your house spotless before she arrives. The menu sounds very nice, btw.
PassionateWriter: Good luck to you!
JMarie: So sorry to hear that the sickies have invaded your home.
I hope you're feeling better soon, and that your appt goes well (GBS Negative!!).
I hope everyone is feeling well, and we get some birth announcements soon!

Good morning, everyone!
PW... I really hope today is your day.
My mom is here and we're going out to breakfast. I'm getting out of the house!!!
And last night I watched the Business of Being Born for the first time... very affirming. Put me in a good mood.

Good morning, mamas!
Did someone say chocolate...in bed...?
A girl after my own heart!!
Tara, I'm hoping you're snuggling your precious babe by now!
Well, today is going to be another day of taking it easy. This morning I made some persimmon bread and now I'm just hanging with my 2 littles playing and reading books. I have a massage scheduled for later this afternoon and after that I may just take a nap. A pretty lazy day is on tap.

Good morning everyone!
ELV's to all who need them! Hopefully Tara is holding her babe by now!
I woke up with a sore throat and sinus congestion...my oldest boy was/still sick with something similar. It's not that bad but I feel like i'm draggin' ya know? I have a prenatal this afternoon and that's about it. Just going to be cleaning the house again. Ctx are back but the usual irregular type. I had a few wake me last night but otherwise I slept pretty good. I really need to find something to do with my time during the day, my cats can only handle so much of me talking to them.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Morning ladies!
More of the same here - constant contractions leading nowhere. I am back on track and reminding myself that my little guy will be here when he's ready and that I've already been pregnant for 9 months so even 2 more weeks (even if I spend every last minute in labor) really isn't that long. I have to say, though, that I understand now why some women would want an induction. I wouldn't do it simply because of being overdue, but this prodromal labor for over a week is like my own little personal hell. I'm still considering calling my midwives and begging for help in my weak moments.
I still have to work until I deliver thanks to having no maternity leave. So here I am, sitting at my desk and being bored. Thankfully, I work with my Dad and as soon as he gets in this morning (about 2 hours), I'm free to go. No room for complaints here, I guess.
On the agenda for today is cleaning the house and trying to keep everything nice, clean and ready for my homebirth. It's gotta be soon, right?

Good morning all! Today is my unofficial due date. By my calculations. Doc's date is 11th. But I don't really expect baby for at least another week. I slept surprisingly well last night. I've had a few of those lately, and I have to say, they are GREAT! But why do I feel like I need a nap 3 hours later?
It must be all those annoying ctx that just don't seem to go anywhere. I'm supposed to be cleaning since I haven't done anything the last couple of days. Dishes, laundry, grocery shopping, sewing. So much to do, so little energy (or interest
And my pelvis hurts. It's better since my chiro adjustment Tues, but I think the only cure at this point is to get this baby out!
It's hard to keep up with all the new babies being born. Every time I log on, it seems like there are several new birth announcements. I'm really excited for everyone, though! Congratulations! And good luck to everyone who is ready and waiting. It won't be much longer! We're all in the short rows now.
