Eureka - TV show

Now that there are 2 pregnant characters on SciFi's Eureka (Lexi and Allison), I wanted to try to write to someone to encourage them to have these characters breastfeed once the babies are born. I would love to see more breastfeeding characters on TV, and I think these two would be natural choices for the writers - I think Lexi as a "new age hippie" type and Allison as a "scientist" type would each be more likely than the general population to nurse.

Anyone know how to find out who to write to though? The best I could find was [e-mail], but I feel like there must be a better place than that.

That's a great idea. Good for you. I watch Battlestar Galactica, and it really bugged me that the babies were bottle fed because where, exactly, would they get formula from? They're stuck out in space!

It always frustrated that they never addressed the feeding issue on Lost. How else would Claire's baby survive on an island unless she breastfed...yet you NEVER see her feeding the baby.

Actually in one episode you did "see" her nursing him. And a few other times she mentions nursing.

I have been thinking the same thing!

I do know on Heroes this past Monday, a future baby was being bottlefed. I was hoping being all "futuristic" and enlightened, there would be breastfeeding. Alas...

i watched a repeat of Voyager day before yesterday and Seska had a baby and said to him "oh are you hungry," sat dowe and started fumbling with her top, cut to next scene. yey for BFing on Voyager.

But then after Claire disappeared, how the heck did Aaron eat for the next 16 days or whatever it was until they were rescued (I don't remember how many days, but definitely more than a week!)? Then when they are rescued, nobody notices that Kate isn't nursing him? It definitely bugged me that this wasn't even addressed. Even though I knew that Claire *had* to be breastfeeding, I felt that it should have certainly been addressed more in Aaron's storyline. And I did write to Lost to tell them so too!

well, yeah, I didn't say it was perfect lol. I mentioned that to dh several times when she went missing. Then again, for a 5 week old baby, he can sit on her hip really well!!
