OMG, I thought it was happening again!

Yall remember about me having to nurse in the storage room at WIC. Well since then I have been totally on the defensive about NIP. I decided there is NO WAY I am going to let someone intimidate me into nursing in a freaking closet. Ever. Again.

So yesterday I was at the store just browsing the clothing, nursing Ethan and an employee (an older woman) asked if I would rather nurse in the fitting room. I was like, OMG. Years and years, literally, of never being harrassed about NIP and now two in two weeks?? I just politely said "No thank you, we're comfortable like this." I was all prepared for a fight but then she said "Oh good for you! I never could nurse my babies with other people around, of course no one really nursed back then either."

I was so glad I didn't freak out on her, like everything in me was wanting to!

Yeah, that would have been awkward!

With my older 2 I was fine nursing whenever, wherever. With the youngest (11 mos) I WANT to be secluded a bit. It's odd for me.

What a nice thing to hear - you were in store for a good NIP experience after your WIC closet! I hope that there was soeone else around who heard the interaction too - so positive!

Something like that happened to me once when DS was about 2 months or so. We went to a run and I was in the Running Room (A running store in Canada) while DH was doing his walk. Anyway the store was busy and crowded and DS was hungry so I found a quite corner so I could sit on the floor to nurse and a clerk came up to me and asked if I wanted to nurse in a fitting room. At first i though oh no my first NIP confrontation and I have no one around me to back me up, anyway I said "No thanks were good" and she said "Yeah when I was nursing my babies I just whipped it out anywhere, I mean it's just a baby at a boob " I felt a lot more relaxed after that and glad I didn't get all defensive
