Finally adding to diaper stash

What should I get?

I used BG One Size 2.0s for most of DDs diapering days (with the exception of several months last year when we used sposies), but she was so tiny at first that I had to rush and order some fitteds and covers until she could fit into the BG one-sizes. Since I'm measuring an inch behind my week (32inches at 33wks) I'm guessing that this kid will be a skinny one as well...and I won't be able to just jump into one-size diapers.

That said, I gave a huge lot of kissaluv contours away and only kept my 6 kissaluv sz 0 fitteds. So do I order more of those? Or do I try some other fitteds, like the BG bamboo fitteds? Or the Thirsties? Or something I haven't heard of??

What are you going to do? (If you're going the CD route--I understand it can't work for everyone.)

I'm using prefolds.

I have a bunch of KL0s and some other newborn/small fitteds, plus some of the smaller size prefolds. I do have a fair number of different supposedly one-size fitteds but in practice they're way too bulky for a newborn.

I used prefolds last time but didn't like them so much. I'm sure I've got them in a box somewhere, along with my tiny diapers. (A project for today.)

I've sewn some newborn sized fitteds (for a daddy friendly choice) but otherwise we'll be using prefolds. They have lots of other uses besides just being a diaper.

You know...you're right. Prefolds are probably the way to go. Looking at the cost, anyway. Fitteds are so dang expensive when you can get a prefold for $1.50 each.

we used prefolds with DD, and they worked fine. this time we have fitteds and pockets, but i wonder if i will end up using the prefolds too.

There is a lot of good advice in the diapering forum, btw.

I decided to go with simple pfs and try a variety of covers.

Me too! I just got 4 dozen regular size and 2 dozen infant size....My mom actually bought them for me from Diaperaps, I've used them before and had no problems...The package she bought also included 19 covers (6 small, 7 med. and 7 large). We will be tie-dying this week

I have to wash daily with 3 in diapers, so I'm not going overboard with diapers. I have way too many for my 2 as it is, so I'm trying to just keep it minimal. I have 3 fitteds right now, I want to get a few more, 5 pockets, and 12 infant prefolds. I have 3 small thirsties covers, 2 small BSWW, and 1 nb BSB, oh and 1 small blueberry minkee wrap. I'm borrowing preemie prefolds and covers from a friend for the first couple of weeks.

I have some newborn prefolds and some newborn fitteds. Preemies will probably work fine until the BG's fit - my friend used those fine until the BG's worked.

I was at Target today, and you can actually buy BumGenius dipes there!! I was shocked (in a good way) hopefully more mom's will consider using cloth now that they are more readily available.

What? Really? At Target?!!!! That's awesome.

I love kissaluv 0's. Have 6 of them. Also have a large stack of PF. But after ds1, I discovered that I like fitted better. So since I sew, on my to do list is 20 imitation kissaluv 0 style fitteds. If that doesn't happen before LO arrives, I'll just break down and get the kissaluv 0's.

Today I stopped by 2 lovely little boutiques. I got to finger and touch gobs and gobs of diapers. One has some great prices on gently used AIO's and pockets. I'll have to see how the budget goes (and honestly we really don't need anything, I just love them!).

But I did get 3 Swaddlebees hemp inserts to use as inserts into my homemade pockets and as doublers. They were gently used (look brand new!) and I got them for $1.95 each. And I bought a Snappi. Most of my prefolds are DSQ, so the snappi will work great for those. I have 3 flannel prefolds so I'll have to use pins (which I already own).

It's so much fun to buy stuff for the baby! Unfortunately, both my kids also need pants, so I've got to spread the wealth!

I'm not a prefold gal or pocket. I do fitteds. I have 19 Mother Ease xs Sandies and 18 Kissaluv 0s. I think that should cover it.

For covers I have 2 xs Thirsties, 1 xs Mother Ease Airflow, 1 xs Mother Ease Ricky, 2 xs Bummis whisper pants, 1 (or 2?) small Thirties, 2 small wool soakers (haven't received them yet), 1 nb size fleece soaker, and 2 nb size wool longies.

Yet, I keep thinking I need more.

Maybe time to start buying the next size up?

I was going to order more prefolds but DH found a box full of them (and my missing KL0s), along with some sz small covers. In the end, I just needed to order a few more snappies (1 isn't enough) and some xs covers.
