rabies, typhoid, and malaria yes ? no ? help!!

My sister just called me and said her doctor wants her to get the gardasil, rabies, typhoid and malaria vaccines before she goes to guatamala in 4 days!!! She was smart enough to say no way jose to gardasil, but she is unsure about the other 3. Does anyone have any advice?!? I don't know what to tell her because she's traveling and I know nothing about these diseases. help please!!

What will she be doing there and where will she be? I'm not an expert on this, but I'd say no to the rabies and malaria vax... she can take malaria meds if she'll be in an area where malaria is present (which may not be all of Guatemala), and rabies is not at all common. I have gotten the typhoid vax and it sent me to the ER with chest pain, a reaction which is NOT that uncommon (I think 1 in 8?!). That was years ago so I knew nothing about vax then and, as I said, don't know that much now, but maybe this little bit will help anyway?
