I just got DMB tickets!

Are you a fan too?

I love dave matthews band and we just got tickets this morning for a show in July in Hartford CT! I am so excited! My dad is going to watch the kids while my dh and I go!

Yippee!

I last saw a show when I was pregnant with my ds #2 and felt like the only pregnant person in the whole stadium and one of the oldest too! I think the band attracts the same type of college fan that I was for the Grateful Dead.

Anyways wanted to share my excitement with this community, if there are other fans out there who may be excited for me! Only one of my mommy friends is a fan, so I had to share my news with you all!

My DH is a HUGE DMB fan! He just went to a DMB concert on Thurs. night in DC. He had a great time even though his tickets were behind the stage.

My daughter and her boyfriend just got tickets but he put the wrong expiration date on his credit card.

If it didn't go through they have lawn seats.

I love DMB and started the green with envy routine.

I was offered one of the lawn tickets if they're reduced to buying them and I'm tempted.

'problem is I don't want to rain on their good time being of the older generation and all.

I love DM!!!!

This would be in Philly in July

mamax3 - your dh is a lucky guy. We used to see the Gdead behind stage alot on fall tour. It was cool lots of space to dance and you could see the band members backs real well! They had great speakers pointed that way too.

Peggy - I'll have a great time and have many days to look forward to it!

abimommy - what is nakking? baby napping on you?!

debrabaker - how nice of your daughter to offer you a lawn tic! If I were you I would definately consider going, you could always give them lots of space at the show.

I just can't believe how expensive tickers have gotten, over $50 with the 'surcharges'! How do all those kids afford it?

Have any of you heard the "lillywhite" cd? It was studio sessions that were never released, but is widely circulated on the net. It is GREAT!

Don't burn the day!

I really like DMB too! I'm so happy for you that you are going! I have concert lust this year...I think I will be going to the Trey Tour....
The last time I saw DMB...Iwas preggo! It rocked...they were with Bela Fleck. Now I understand that the crowd is mostly very young girls, as opposed to the 20 and 30 somethings I mostly noticed 5 years ago.
You will have to let us know how it was!

Cool - they're comming to Detroit in a few weeks. I really like DMB. I think they're going to be at the outdoor stadium? But, I gotta check - I'm still stuck in the GGD's...

That's so cool! When's the concert? Wish I could go with you!!! We'd have a blast.!!!!

serenetabblie - hey its nice to know other preggo moms were rockin at shows too! I went when pregnant with both of my boys! The second time I was HUGE! Trey tour sounds good, we actually saw PHISH when they were playing small clubs in Albany and in Burlington VT in 88 I think....hazy memory

IrishMommy - I will!

Ms. Mom - I think I'll check the abbreviation list, you stumped me with GGD's

: hmm...

the concert in july 25, a friday...we just saw an old pal last night who knows people who do legal work for the band. He says he might be able to get us backstage passes! Though I will not hold my breath...we've heard it before....but if he comes through...OHMYGosh, how cool would that be?

eat drink and be merry,

only show planned is DMB and that is because we are only comfortable leaving them with gramps&Nanny for bedtime. No one else has ever put the kids to bed! As they get older perhaps we'll venture out some more.

We may go to some daytime fests though. We went to the Gathering on the Mountain at Jack Frost mt in Pa a couple of times and that was really great. We are going to look out for those opps.

Where is the cornfield?

Michelle~
I live near Allentown PA, not too far from Jack frost/Camel back/all that. Our house at a 90 degree angle to the road. The road is out our front window...like 4 feet. The corn feilds, acres and acres of them, are out the bedroom window in the "rear" of the house.

the gathering?

Forestma, we had some conversation about N NJ back in Nov/Dec. We just moved from SLC, UT and I was posting for folks in Sussex CO, NJ. You replied about W Milford area. We actually moved to PA just accross the Del Water Gap, in E Stroudsburg. I don't know if you remember, no biggie if you don't.

Curious about the Gathering.?What and where is it? We would love to find some day concerts/festivals in the area.
It sounds like Jack Frost is an easy drive from our area. Not sure where it is til I look at the map.

Have a great day.

Hi Kelli!

to the east! Of course I recall our little 'chat', glad you survived the big move...I see you landed a little further west than you origianlly thought.

http://www.jackfrostbigboulder.com/ is the web site for jack frost mountain. We may be renting a house nearby for the weekend August 17 and 18. I think there may be a lot of festival day shows in PA (I vaguely recall seeing a bunch while surfing and looking last summertime). The gathering is the only one we have ventured to.

Peace!

Forestma,
Good to chat again, would be great to meet up at some day fests this summer. I think our boys would play well, mine are Forest, just 2 in Mar, and Stone, 4 on May 11

Are your boys rough? My first is a girl and I thought she was rough, But these 2 boys are so much more but in a different way.
I digress,sorry.

Thanks for the link. My dh said he had heard of the gathering but it was in Oregon, maybe it is a traveling thing? I will check it out. What did you search for? to find other musical events.

We ended up in PA because the prices dropped upwards of 30 to 40 thousand for bigger yard, similar sized house, in a wooded community. We are enjoying the fact that the road our house is on is a dirt road, no yellow lines. We have still not sold the house in UT,

Stone wants to add something, :yuck

Motherhood calls, Have a great day!

Ohmygosh,

had to let you guys know something....I knew Dave Matthews lived in yorktown, NY for a few years and he is the same age as me. I always wondered if maybe we were in the same grade school. Well....I just found out via a high school website that he went to middle school the same time I did...so I checked out my old yearbook and there he was!!!! He was in my 'team' at the school and looking at his picture I have vague recollections of a skinny, chatty prankster of a kid......

bizarre, eh?

Forestma,
How funny, it is such a small world sometimes.

We are still planning on the Gathering. I am hoping there are other fun festivals and such to go to and meet folks this summer.
Do let us know if you hear of anything that we could all meet at etc.
Same on this side, and anyone else!

Have a great day!

BUMP

Did anyone buy the new album today? How is it? Saw them on Letterman last night and SO and I's response to the one song was "I like the sound of that better than the stuff on Everyday"
