DTaP reaction: how long is too long?

My 2 m/o is having what I feel very strongly is a reaction to the DTaP she got (the only vax she has had). I posted on Dr. Sears' website & he responded that he thinks I am right in suspecting a vax reaction. Wondering what other people think (I know my dr. is going to tell me today that it is unrelated):
The day after receiving the shot, she began having diarrhea. That lasted a week, followed by another week of no pooping at all. Then, 2 weeks after getting the shot, she had a horrible screaming episode - uncontrollable screaming for several hours. After a suppository & pooping, she calmed, but then the same thing happened the next day. The 3rd day she was very weepy & easily upset, but not as bad. Those 3 nights she slept 12 hours straight (not like her at all). Then she slowly started to get back to herself, but started pooping frequently again like diarrhea. Then she went 1 day without pooping & the next day had another screaming episode (at this point it was 3 weeks post-vax). That was yesterday. Today she has blood in her stool. We have an appt. with the pedi tonight but I am very worried about my baby & feel it is vax-related. Also, the day after the 1st screaming episode I cut all milk protein out of my diet, and 1 week later she still had another episode & blood in stool (she is breastfeeding).
Is 2 weeks an unreasonable amount of time for the screaming to be related? I feel it isn't, especially since the diarrhea started right away, and it seems to be continual GI problems rather than an isolated episode...

I think you are very right to believe this is vaccination related as well... You know the gut healing they are always talking about with children who have had vaccination damage misdiagnosed as autism. (Okay this is personal belief on my side...) But they remove all dairy, and gluten from the diet. why? removing helps affect the gut, and heals the gut.

If it were me in this situation... personally... I would be asking around for a good N.D. and skip the M.D., Pedi all together. I believe there is a predisposed condition that an N.D will be honest and say is there, and a M.D. Ped. etc. wont even acknowledge exists, much like the vaccination and autism link. Instead of blaming it on something else, and not taking responsibility for the reaction, an N.D will most likely help you heal your babies gut without harmful antibiodics and medications with side affects. Get that little one some relief on a healing level! Antibiotics, and medications may help ease symptoms, but are hard on the gut and can actually cause damage, finding something herbal you can take for your baby through breast milk is a lot less invasive, and something an N.D would be willing to work through.

I hope this helps, feel free to pm me if you need to talk more. I know how it feels to get so frustrated, know, and then feel like you don't even want to make that ped. visit.

Oh... and make sure you report this to VAERS. You can do this yourself if your pedi. doesn't, but if your Pedi doesn't. I would be on the lookout for a diff. course of action.

Take some time to do some healing yourself momma! Keep me updated... I hate hearing this... I went through it with my son. I am a very fortunate momma myself, to have had reactions that led me to know what the right choice for my son was, before I letting it go so far. Your little one is very very loved and fortunate to have a mom like you.

Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) are primary care providers who focus on treating the whole person. The treatments utilized by NDs vary widely and can include therapeutic nutrition, homeopathic remedies, botanical remedies, nutritional supplementation, physical medicine including spinal manipulation, and prescription medications when necessary. Naturopathic education is a four-to-five year, graduate level, outpatient-based medical program that focuses on primary care medicine.

Naturopathic Doctor... Naturopaths prefer to use natural remedies such as herbs and foods rather than surgery or synthetic drugs.

sorry she has been so sick. I read a lot about vaxes nearly every single day for about 2 years now. I keep reading about gut issues being related to vaccine damage, so it could very well be. There are things you can do to help heal. I just read this book, here is the website: http://www.4ahealing.com/

It goes into great detail about healing the body. Obviously with her being only 2mo, you'd want to discuss this with a doctor who knows about biomedical treatment, and there are tests you can have done. Since a lot of gut issues seem to be excaberated by gluten and dairy, you may want to remove those from your diet and see if that makes a difference.

Another piece of advice: Find out the lot # of the DTaP, they are required by law to write it down in the chart. Then look up that lot # on VAERS. You may find that others have had the same issue. You can also look up the DTaP in general. When things settle down you should also report her reactions to VAERS.
