I agree -- but she seems quite happy about how it's worked out for her and her family. And I'm not saying I want any of these families to be unhappy -- it's just, the way things seem to flow more smoothly for all of them, makes my parenting seem rather unsuccessful at the moment.

But it's certainly not a competition. And situations like this do help me dig deep and figure out what it is I really believe, and what I really want for my children.

mammal mama- I don't think I have anything useful to add here, but I just have to say, I am consistently amazed and impressed by your attitude and kindness. You seem so genuine, and I am sure that is why God gave you a "challenging" child.

I am fortunate in that I had 3 "easy" kids before my "challenging" one came along, so- I always tell people who look on in horror at some of his behavior that "kids sure can be different even with the same type of parenting". I am so thankful that God waited to give me a challenge until I was firmly rooted in Gentle Discipline and AP.
