caramel corn

etc.

Make sure you post your recipe :

I think that means she's taking notes and lurking in here to read other's replies.

My preschooler loves to make jar dry mixes for gifts. We did over a dozen brownie mixes last year in mason jars. Layered the brown and white ingredients, and tied ribbon around the top. He had fun doing it and people loved them.

Great idea!! I was even thinking of possibly doing some of the oatmeal cookies in a cute reindeer handprint bag. Recipe is on mothering. Great vegan recipe as well!! DH doesn't even know!!:

I am making homemade vanilla extract and vanilla sugar. I bought organic vanilla beans on ebay and am steeping them in vodka for 8 weeks (I am using 19 beans (6in long) per liter of vodka to make a "proper 1 fold extract" and for the vanilla sugar I am using 2 cups of sugar per bean and letting it sit for a while to infuse the flavor. I plan to give them together along with a few recipes that use the ingredients. The total cost for 20 of these gifts is around $80, so I am quite pleased It is also not a lot of prep time (aside from the waiting) or mess, which is a plus for me since I am quite sick with HG.

I am not a fan of white chocolate at all, but last year I melted white chocolate and mixed in dried blueberries, orange extract and almonds, then poured it and let it harden, and broke it into pieces. It was to die for. I don't recall where I got the idea, it was either a website or a women's magazine, but I read so many I couldn't even begin to remember which one it was.

My kids and the people I gave it to fell on it like a pack of wild dogs. It was gone in seconds.

I just placed an order for some 8oz metal tins from Frontier (I think they were $2.75 each), and I'm going to make my bbq spice rub and fill the tins. Yum! I use the rub when I make ribs or pulled pork, so I may include recipes for those things when I gift the spice-filled tins.

I also have a really yummy peanut brittle recipe that you make in the microwave. Unfortunately, you can only make one batch at a time. I made the mistake of trying to double it once. I don't recommend it. I'm thinking of making some batches of peanut brittle as gifts this year, but I need to make up a list and see who is on my gift list first.

Here's one that sounds yummy and different. A recipe for homemade Kahlua.

do you have a link for frontier?

A lot of people run Frontier co-ops, and that is how I order. But I think you can order individually too.

I have tested Cranberry Hootycreeks and my family loved them. They look very nice in the mason jar and the gift tags that they have here make them look very nice. I will be making several of them for Christmas this year.

For teacher gifts I have made
Spiced Mixed Nuts. They look forward to it every year and so does my family!

I have also made Mexican Hot Chocolate mix but didn't taste it myself

I;ve also made white chocolate peppermint bark (yum!) and chocolate covered pretzels with sprinkles.

I'm getting hungry just reading about all of these :

This recipe for spiced pecans is really easy. I brought a big batch of them to my mom's for Thanksgiving one year and they were all gone by the time we left that night.

Subbing because I love giving and receiving edible gifts . . .
