MDC is pleased to announce a community-wide initiative, One Board, One Book. In the spirit of The Big Read and One Town, One Book, all members are invited to read an agreed-upon book and participate in an online book club and discussion.

We've narrowed the many books available down to a list of 15, and we would like all interested members to please choose the book they would most like to read. You only get one vote, so choose wisely! The poll will be closed on Friday, October 17th. Please see the post below for links to a synopsis of each book.

Thanks for helping to choose a book, and we hope you're as excited about this as we are!

Excellent idea and so many great selections!

This is a great idea, but I would be much more likely to participate if the book were non-fiction and more directly related to parenting.

Then our Natural Family Living workshop, which is going chapter by chapter through Peggy O' Mara's book, might be more to your liking.

You could also start a book club of your own in the Book Club forum.

It was a conscious decision to choose a work of literature, rather than a non-fiction AP or NFL book.

Wow, that was really difficult to decide. Some are rather more depressing than others. But they're all fascinating.

We tried really hard to get a wide range of books. It was hard to choose! It was hard to narrow them down. And I love your location!

This is a great way to get to know lots of new books, no matter what we decide to read!

This is a great idea! I don't know if I'll have time to participate, but I really love it!

This sounds like so much fun!

I choose the book that I choose because it really impacted my teenage life and I have not read it since then. Id love to read it again with a book club!

That is a beautiful book! There are so many interesting books: it's hard to pick which one!!!!

Oh wow! I vote for "Their eyes were watching God" because I've never read but always wanted to.

I think this is a great idea btw! Soon enough I plan on starting on a pile of books while BFing. It'd be nice to be part of a discussion! I like that it is not a parenting book.
