Daily Chat for Friday, 10/10!

Good morning, mamas! I'm glad to see that everyone else is sleeping.

I had a great pregnancy massage yesterday and a great lunch with DH. Then I got home with DD 2 hours before needing to go back out and get my newly spayed kitten from the vet, and I kicked the toe of my shoe on the stair in my garage. This sent my SI into paroxysms of pain, and I couldn't put weight on it. DD helped me with handholds so I could get inside the house and call DH, then the chiro. The chiro provided a lot of relief, but my rib got hurt (bruised?) during the adjustment.

After we got home, DH, who had been very helpful, went into the "well, you're better so you don't need me to wait on you" mode. Twerp.

By 6:30 I was ready to sleep, but that's tough in our little house when others are up, so I moped around angrily for a while. Our "perfect" lunch vibe long since past, we just went to bed in a huff after DD's storytime. No Survivor or Grey's Anatomy, or adult time at all.

Sleeping was so painful, that I've been up for an hour. Here I sit on the birthing ball at the computer, and our kitten has awakened from her long post-anaesthesia nap.

Hope you all have a good day.

audsma, im so sorry about the pain. sometimes you just have to go to bed!!!

AMA: still here and gestating. thanks for thinking of me yesterday.

ds3 and i have Music Together after taking ds2 to school. I think im really going to try all the dances today. lol! i hate to be the couner, but 41 weeks and 4 days is no fun.

Im planning a BIG shopping trip tomorrow at a Hanna Andersson outlet. Perhaps that will be enough incentive for baby (if he wants his college fund in tact....come on out! j/k!!).

other than that no much going on. Contrax for over 2 weeks (2 weeks was Tuesday). They just STOPPED yestserday. A few very very minor ones but nothing like it was.

anyway, hope everyone has a great day. I hope to.
I hope that you feel better soon, Kelli!

Passionwriter, I hope your little boy ruins your shopping trip

I'm frustrated. Last night I was having regular and kinda painful contractions, like the don't talk to me, don't touch me, don't make any noise at all kind of contractions. I was sure it was the start of something.. but after a really good night's sleep (because well, after 4hrs of those kinds of contractions, I was tired!) I've woken up still pregnant.. 39wks today. This on and off crap sucks! We're at almost 2wks of the on again off again contractions. It's really hard to be patient (as so many of you know!) when you're being teased

Anyway, LLL meeting this morning, haven't been in a few months so I'm excited! And dh has a four day weekend, I'm so looking forward to having him home for four whole days!

Hope we hear about some more babies today, it's been awful quiet here lately.

Audsma, sorry to hear about the pain, that sounds pretty uncomfortable. Hope you have a better day!

I'm right there with you mamas on the 2 plus weeks of contractions. VERY frustrating, I've been trying not to think about them anymore. DH and I went out to a movie last night, which was nice, because it distracted me from all this baby stuff. We went all the way and got a big sugary soda and candy (stuff that I very rarely allow near us lol) so it was fun.

I'll be 40 weeks on Monday. My sister, due a week after me, is being induced tomorrow morning. I wish she'd just ride it out. Oh well...
Good morning mamas! Three days until my guess date, and I'm well. It's Friday, and although I no longer work, I still get excited about weekends when DH is off work. I had a nice time at yoga and dinner last night. DH insisted on Mexican food because he's still trying everything he can to get me to go into labor (I hope he doesn't try to slip me any castor oil, though).

All week I've had light pink or brownish mucousy discharge. I thought it was bloody show, but is it within the very wide range of normal for it to last several days like this? Not really concerned because I feel fine and baby is active. Just curious.

So audsma, it sounds like you had a rough day yesterday! I hope you have a much better day today.

PW I was really hoping for a birth announcement from you today! I agree with pp that I hope your shopping trip is disrupted, but otherwise have a great time at Hanna Andersson. I was just looking at their new stuff yesterday.

mkmb129: Have fun at the LLL meeting. So sorry you're dealing with those contractions. I hope something comes of them SOON!

faerieshadow: Your trip to the movies is really making me regret not making it to the matinee yesterday! I'm sorry you're dealing with contractions, too. It's really not fair! It'll just be a memory soon, though.

This board is a lot less chatty now that so many mamas are busy snuggling their babies.

(I would love to be one of them!)

Had to run out the door before finishing my other post, anyway, sis is being induced tomorrow, granted her pregnancy has been tough with a lot of swelling, and some bp issues, but they got it under control so I just wish she'd wait it out. She was a few days "early" with her first and 3 weeks early with her second, so I think she would have had the baby this coming week anyway. And of course there is a little part of me that's jealous that she'll probably be holding her babe in arms first when I was due first. Silly, yes...

Not silly at all! I had a friend due the same day as me, and she had her baby EIGHT days ago. I'm still pregnant. I have several people due after me, and I'm sure they'll have theirs first, too. It's a wee bit of a bummer when for once you're due before everyone else

audsma - I'm sorry your DH turned into a twerp after such a nice afternoon. What is it with DHs and thinking that a lack of whining/moaning means everything is a-okay?

PassionateWriter - JEALOUS of your HA outlet shopping trip, though for your sake, I hope the LO makes his appearance. I'm so sad we no longer live near a HA store at all, I have to get my fix online. *sniff*

mkmb129 - Sorry you're stuck in the contrax-that-go-nowhere mode. Maybe you'll just have a VERY short labor when all is said and done. Here's hoping!

Faerieshadow - I understand about your sister. It's hard when they don't make the same decisions we would in their place. The little-bit-jealous thing is completely normal, I'd feel the same way.

crosscat - Not really sure on the bloody show question, but I'd imagine it's perfectly normal. Your cervix is pretty easily irritated at this point. Your DH's 'induction' methods are cracking me up though!

AAM - 37 WEEKS! I made it to 37 weeks! After having DS at 35w2d, I was just bound and determined to make it at least this far. I'm so happy! I'm also definitely nesting - I've been washing baby clothes and dipes all morning, I was up until midnight scrubbing our bathroom, and now I'm antsy thinking of all the work I need to finish in the kids room. Looks like our house will be spotless by the time the weekend is through!

I definitely lost the mucous plug yesterday, mostly in one big piece, and the contractions have picked up today. Regular every now and then, but still more all over the place than not. They are really working my cervix though, YEOWZA to some of them! DS predicted that his sister would arrive on 10/15, so we'll see how accurate he is. He did correctly predict he would have a sister...

Now for a teensy little rant. I know I mentioned that DS brought home a little intestinal bug last week and it has gone through all of us. It wasn't horrendous, just a little discomfort and a bit sluggish, but again, not horrible. I disinfected most of the house and both DS and I got through it without much problem. DH, on the other hand, is acting like he might just fall over. He's been whining and moaning and just lounging in bed or on the couch, and he's just not helping around the house at all. I *need* him to step up and help me do some things, because my arm is still bothering me and I just don't have the strength to do certain things. But no, he went back to bed after taking DS to school this morning. And since DS has a half-day at school today, nothing will likely get done this afternoon either. How on earth will he manage if I DO go into labor anytime soon???!!! GAHHHH!!! Okay, rant over.

Off to do more laundry. I found all of DS's onesies and socks from when he was a baby, and they could REALLY use some stain treatment! It's so sad that I'm excited to stain treat baby clothes... I guess it's the little things at this point! Happy Friday to all!!

Hi mamas!
Still here gestating too - I'm only 37 weeks so I don't know why in the world i've allowed myself to become so impatient!
I mean, why would this baby come 3 weeks early?

Sorry about the SI pain and the waiting waiting waiting for babies to arrive.

I hear you on both.

For me, I was woken up with the worst heartburn/acid reflux I've ever had in my life last night.
It was really awful. I basically was gagging for 15 minutes. Poor DH was so worried about me.

DH is so eager to meet this little one, as am I of course - but I feel like he's just crossed over into seriously impatient mode.

My due date is Oct 29th so.... we could still have a looong way to go - scary to think i could technically be pregnant well into November. AHhhhhh!

Audsma, hope you get to feeling better.

You can add me to the 2 + week ctx club. I'm just ignoring them now, i do get a few that "grab" my attention but that's it. I have a friend coming over this evening to hang out, we'll be getting pizza for the kids, but it will be nice to have another adult around to chat with. You all know i'm tired of talking to my cats...lol! My house stays pretty much clean now, I just touch up stuff during the day. Kids are happy they don't have as many chores right now. As for my illness, I feel a ton better today!! I think i'm on the upswing. I slept well last night too! My sore throat is gone..yeah! A little congestion but I"m good!

Morning mamas!

After a hard night last night of contracting and nothing to show for it, I'm sleep deprived and grumpy today. I'm feeling very emotional and needy today, too. Ugh!

Not really much going on today except maybe a trip to Trader Joe's. Dh and I might make a date out of our trip to see our mw later this afternoon. Other than that I really need to find something to take my mind off of all this prodromal labor. Any ideas?

Have a great day!

I totally understand, my SIL was due about a month after me and ended up having hers first. so not only did she get the first grandson, but the first granddaughter too. And i was more upset because she had to have an emergency c-section at 29 weeks, because she wasn't taking care of her self, and i was stuck on bedrest trying to keep mine in.

Hey mamas!

Still here lugging along. I am now 38 weeks 1 day. I never got to this point in my daughters pregnancy (had her at 35w5d), and I am just plain exhausted. I am still thankful for the fact that I'm able to sleep at night, but my stomach just hurts! Nothing is really comfortable and I can not get up when I have to

I had an appointment with the Midwife yesterday. Baby is LOA, perfect heartrate and measuring right on. I've started to have mild swelling these past 3 days, as well as a minor headache. My right upper ribs have been bothering me too, so I've been on alert for Pre-E. My blood pressure has been about 102/62 this pregnancy, but it was 119/82 yesterday, so it is up a tad, but nothing to be worried about...yet. I'm just feeling really uneasy about having Pre-E again. I don't want to go through that. I hope he decides to come soon.

I can't believe how anxious I am getting for him to choose his birthday It seems like it is all that I can think about. Unfortunately I have nothing to look forward to in the next two weeks, so nothing to seemingly pass the time. My house has sort of become a bit messy again, so today I need to peel my butt off the chair and clean up.

Ah well...here is sending some peace to all of us still waiting!
I'm here too...just trudging along. My technical edd by lmp is in 2 days, but I'm still going by the 17th, and anticipate adding at least a week onto that for this babe to cook. It's getting harder to wait. The anticipation is killing me. But I have to get it in my head that I still have a little ways to go. I haven't been having a lot of BH or anything. Some pelvic pressure. And I've been trying so hard to get this babe to turn and face the right direction. This babe is posterior, as was my last one, and I dread having a labor like that again.

I have no plans today. I always getting really "nesty" towards the end, a bit anti-social, and just want to hang out at home. That's the point where I am at. And if another person calls to check on me, I am going to scream!

Good morning ladies! I very rarely post, but I read all the time. Thought I'd start even though it is late in the game. I certainly have gotten lots of comfort and advice from all you women. Thanks!

I will hit 38 weeks on Monday. Dd was born at 37 weeks 5 days - failed induction due to pre-e that ended in an emergency c-section. I am set for a vbac at a hospital about 1 hour away with a doctor I have been seeing for a month now. The hospitals in our area don't allow vbacs. Bummer, but we have found a good alternative. Crossing my fingers, toes, eyes, arms and legs that all goes well!

With dd, I didn't ever hit an uncomfortable spot in my pregnancy. This one has proven to be totally different. Is it possible to feel 40+ weeks pregnant if I've never been there before? I guess I'll just have to think back when/if I make it to 40+ weeks and see if things are even different then.

I hope you all have lovely days today, whatever your plans include. I send labor vibes to all those who need them!
I of course don't have a lot of time right now but I'm trying to keep up with everyone a little at least. I hope you're all doing well and ELV's : to anyone who needs them. s for anyone having a hard go right now.
Hi everyone!

Tomorrow is my due date by my calculation. When do you want to come baby?

I hope everyone who is uncomfortable can get some relief today and find some fun distractions.

I had 2 nights of contractions all night long and couldn't sleep, but last night nothing happened and I got 9 blissful hours (with a few potty breaks of course). I am feeling good and ok that the baby might be in for another week or 2. He can't stay in forever right?
Ladies, It sure sounds like we're all waiting.... patiently. My midwife told me this baby was coming around 9/27. Today is 41.5. I am flabbergasted that the baby is still inside. And I'm not really having any contractions or "symptoms" basically I just feel the baby will be in forever.

It is a good reminder that this is something over which I have NO control and that is hard for me. I spent Monday and Tuesday a bit depressed. Thursday I saw the midwife and she checked me and said my cervix is not softened, no effacement, dilated maybe a 1/2 cm... Since I'm a VBAC she said safely she would not want to wait past the 20th. This gives me 10 days.

The upside is tonight I get to go to my Sacred Woman's Circle and a good friends birthday afterward. Maybe all the strong feminine energy will spark birthing?!?

Blessings to each of you and know we'll all be cuddling our sweet babes soon enough.
remember maizy that you can go from nothing happening to labor in no time!
I guess keep moving around, doing relaxing things. You won't have to wait 10 more days.
Hello everyone!:
Big hugs all around to us who are waiting and those who are snuggling their LOs!

I am feeling a wee bit better since I got the antibiotics yesterday for this sinus infection/earache thingie I am fighting. My ear popped finally and my throat is less swollen too. I am gonna dose up on probiotics so I don't get a yeastie.
38 weeks and 4 days today- woo hoo- baby is still quite active, had a bunch of contrax/surges yesterday evening and some back pain but then was able to sleep just fine falling asleep to my Hypnobirth Rainbow Relaxation cd.
We shall see what today brings.
My day's work is to clean, pack my hossy bag and keep my feet elevated if I can help it. They were like balloons again yesterday.
I have been feeling nauseous off and on and have had a few bouts of diarrhea.
Moving around is getting harder and harder esp. walking (baby feels so low) and coming to standing up from a recline position (usually brings on some contrax).
ELVs to anyone who needs em :
