Hot Tub Use For Birthing?

We have a great indoor hot tub in our house and I so very much want a water birth. None of the hospitals around here offer water births at all and I can't get a midwife. I want to have a UA birth in the hottub but DH doesn't want me to.
He says that it could ruin the hot tub and asks how I expect to clean the tub after.
Now I have my own list of questions.

I don't want any chemicles in the tub for the birth obviously but I don't want it to become a biohazard ether. I plan to keep it empty until we need it but it will take about a day to warm up so it may have to be running for anywhere from a few days before birth to a few weeks if the babe is stubborn. How long can fresh water be circulated and heated in the tub before it is no longer safe and has to be changed?

Once I am in the tub Dh is worried that if the pump and jets are going my birth fluids could screw it up or somehow become stuck in the piping(not chunks residue). I would think it would be benifitial to have the pumps going at certain times as needed for my comfort. Is there any danger or wwarning about using the jets(there are only 4 in the tube aimed right at the lower back and they have 2 settings, high and low)? Will this in some way ruin my tub?

Are there any procations I should take in cleaning and preparing the tub before it is used? What about after when we drain it? Is there any remedy or herb that is safe to put in the tub while I'm birthing or anything like that?

How Deep should the tub be, what guildlines can I use to anticipate postions I may use in the tub?

What about temperature, is there a certain range you should stay within or is is by comfort?

Has anyone done this before? I really have to find a way to convince DH.

I labored in my home hot tub until we went to the hospital - worked great. It was the getting out of the damn thing in transition that was a big mistake

We had it drained and professionally cleaned afterward.

How did you prepare the water before you got in? How long had it been in the tub? Did you add anything to it? I'm more worried about water quality and when to fill it. Does anyone know how many days strait water could sit in a hottub and still be safe to birth in?
