I ordered a shampoo bar from BHS that's for oily hair and even after using a vinegar rinse that I didn't rinse out my hair fells so waxy and filmy. What am I doing wrong?
Should I just give up and go back to the bottle? I have fine, thin hair andget oily scalp.
Please Help!!

You aren't doing anything "wrong"-- everyone's hair is just different.

First, try rinsing out the diluted vinegar! It should be like a tablespoon to about 16 ounces of water.

If your hair still feels greasy, don't use vinegar at all. Really. I "had" fine, thin, hair that got oily quickly... and when I switched to washing with baking soda, I realized the vinegar was making it feel heavy and oily/filmy. So, I quit using it. I now have shiny, bouncy hair!

oh, and our water is not-quite-hard per say, but definately not soft, either.

Tomorrow I will try rinsing out the vinegar. The first 2 days I didn't do the vinegar rinse and it was worse. Today when I did it it smelled like soap when I applied it, kinda like soap residue. It still smelt that way after, so maybe rinsing out the vinegar will help.

Get a shower filter. It was the only thing that helped us. Our water is the hardest you can register.
