Jasmine -- Yay, I'm glad you're back with us! And that you're getting plenty of exercise in. I hope this is your month! (Do you have a chart?)

Katey -- What sort of nursing do you want to go into? That's interesting about the BCPs and maturing your ovaries... what sort of hormones are out of whack?

Freezehead -- You don't sound like you'd need allll that much convincing

Rhiannon -- Hi there! Good luck this month. I'll be adding you to the header momentarily.

Vegan Mama -- Welcome! I'll add you in a second here. How awesome that you have so much space and are sharing it with your critters.

Sunnykbird -- It's to answer -- I was just thinking some of us have been hanging around in this thread for a few months now and it would be neat to know more about you girls. Doesn't have to pertain to TTC/babies.

My answer to my own "About your family" question:
DH and I are both 32 and celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in June. We were both nerdy college freshmen at different universities in 1994 when we met in a Star Trek-themed Internet chat room. I have a degree in Chinese Studies and work as a usability speclist and technical writer at a major public university. DH runs his own business (he literally makes a living playing video games) and is a stay at home dad. Our only child so far is Vivian, who will be 3 in January. We have 4 cats (only two of whom are actually on me as I type this ).

AFM:I got EWCM yesterday,CD10, so DH and I have officially started our freakfestival for Halloween!! I normaly O CD 14, but I guess my CM is getting a head start this month.

As for my family.....DH and I have been together almost 10 yrs (this Jan), married for 2. We have a wonderful furry family 2 cats and 1 puppy we are slightly obsessed with. We can't wait to add a "non-fur" addition to our fam. I should also mention that I am the only girl in this pack of fur that I live with....and I kinda-like it!!

How about a Question of the Day? Tell us about your family (DH, kids, pets, whatever you want!).[/QUOTE]

My DH and I met many years ago on a camping trip with friends. I had a big crush on him, but he had a girlfriend. So I'd see him a few times a year and always on our annual canoe trip. We formed a strong connection and I fell in love with him more and more each year. We were friends for 6 years before we finally started dating. He was living in another state at the time. We got married 3 years after that.
With our DD we were kind of trying (not preventing pregnancy). The month I got pregnant was the first month I charted.
So I have started charting again in hopes that it helps! It feels good to be getting to know my body all over again. My cycles have been lasting 31 days the past few months.

I need to change my O DATE to yesterday, OCT 22. So that makes my test date NOV 5th! I have a test waiting in the drawer for that day.

Congrats to Eli's Mama! :::

Well, I'm the youngest of two. I'm a newlywed. Met my husband at a Civil War reenactment (we're reenactors) one day and was immediately attracted, and after long-distance dating for a year, and a long-distance engagement for a little less than a year, we got married in April 2008, outdoors, in an 1890s pavilion, with an 1860s style ceremony and reception. It was great. ::blissful sigh:: I love cats, but my husband is badly allergic, so my sister had to adopt mine. ::sob!:: Thankfully she's a better mom to my furbabies than I was...she's gifted. But that's it at my home...no other pets or children or anything. Just me and the Man. We hope to be able to buy some land one day and keep chickens.

oh please add me! ive actually been testing for the last week since i have NO CLUE when i ovulated. i think im getting faint lines but they arent getting any darker each day. so my official test day i think will be oct. 26th since my last period started sept. 26th.
kalishia~ ive peed on 6 tests in the lat 5 days and have gotten those very light pink lines each time.. dp keeps saying "youre pregnant!" and i tell him i dont know...i have to poas again tomorrow LOL! so im there with ya. denial. ill be happy to get a nice dark line one of these days!

Congrats, Eli's Mom! Hurray!

I just don't even know what to do with myself. My period would be due around Thursday of next week, if it's a 28 day cycle. But it probably wouldn't be, because since Feb. I've been having really short cycles- 22, 23 days. They've lengthened recently to 26-27 days again. All this to say, I don't really know when to test, but I planned to wait to until the end of next week if AF doesn't show before then.

But, I think I O'd early, on Monday of last week, so I'd be 10dpo now. And Saturday, 5 days ago, I had spotting that looked for all the world like implantation! Now I analyze every gas pain, nauseated feeling, blob of CM and minor backache.

Yesterday, I bought 5 Dollar Tree tests. I have already taken 3 of them. (please help me!) They're all negative. Well, the first one shows two pink lines, but I messed up that one by putting my drops in the test window instead of the control. So of course I don't know anymore than I did, and I've wasted 3dollars. The closer I get to AF-time, the more pessimistic I feel. And this is only our first month trying. I am ridiculous.

I will be back to answer the QotD in a while.

eli's mom congrats on the BFP!!!! ::

aufilia I'd like to work in labor and delivery and maybe go back to school for nurse midwifery. We'll see tho..i'm ready to be done for a little while As far as the birth control, i was having periods 45 days apart, skipping months, having maybe 5 or 6 a year from age 13-17. my doc decided that by 17 i should be more regular so he put me on bcps..said my ovaries may not be maturing enough on their own to produce adequate progesterone (my LH and FSH were fine...they just weren't getting the message across downstairs ). anyway, i guess he was right. since i've been off i've had consistent 31 day cycles with what i would consider a more normal amt of flow (not scanty like before). Anyway! just wanted to let ya know.

amyTest time getting closer by the day!

Congrats !!ELIS MOM!! ::

AFM:
Still waiting to O. Was sick from CD 9-12, so my chart got a little funky but it seems to be mellowing back down. I O'd on CD 19 last time. Impatiently waiting!!

kparker -- Sorry about AF.

honeybunny -- 10 years, that's a neat milestone.

Raven -- That's a neat story about meeting your DH. Your DD is only a few months younger than mine.

Amy -- Oooh do you have any wedding pictures online we can oogle? I'd love to see them!

Koa -- I added you to the header. Are you getting faint lines on a pregnancy test?? ANY 2nd line within the time limits means pregnant -- they don't have to be dark lines! And they may not get darker depending on the ink content of the test.

Lula's Mom -- Lay off those test strips! You are going to drive yourself nuts peeing 3 times a day. It's really quite early for a BFP, especially on the cheapie strips.

Katey -- It's great that the BCPs helped. 31 days sounds really healthy. I'm all for nurse-midwives.... I had CNMs with my first pregnancy and will have one this next time around... it was hard to find a CNM who'd do deliveries at the birth center.

BeauGeek -- Ahh, that might explain your spikey temps. I wondered about those multiple drops.

Jasmine -- for the O.

Me -- I get a FAIL for today, I think. I invested in a supply of Robitussin to try to increase my CM since last month it was pathetic. This morning I pulled out the bottle leftover from last month and took my first 2oz... only to realize I'd pulled out the Robitussin DM instead of the plain stuff you're supposed to use... : DOH.

Sure! For a glimpse of a few pics, there's my historical sewing blog (adayin1861.blogspot.com). Since it's historical sewing, it's just showing off the dress I made. I'm in the process of posting more.

link didn't work.

ok to answer this question of the day:
quick blurb:
(this is hard) i met dh when he was interning in PA (my home state- woot!) and when I met him I just "knew". anyway got engaged on Miami Beach and loved it so much we had our wedding there on the beach, in the sand. We lived in frigid PA for like 4 months before I get a job transfer to Northern California. (Dh is from seattle so he's all about the west coast) we moved and have lived here for the majority of our marriage. (2 years last june)
eventually i would like to adopt a bunch of kids and have some too, and live near the shore and teach my curly headed mop top kids to surf.

I missed QOTD errm..a few days ago.

I met DH online in a Yahoo chatroom. I was 17, he was 19. After graduating HS, I moved to MI, got married & had the two kiddos, who go by the nicknames below. I'm a SAHM. DH is a Information Technology Analyst & building lead for his company. I have one furry love of my life, Spawn and we have a ball python. We spend most of the fall-early summer season watching Redwing hockey. Our night literaly revolves around the game. I swoon for #30.
