Here we are 11 days into October!

Wow, I woke up this am to a lot of birth announcements! How exciting that more and more mamas in our DDC are snuggling their LOs. I can't wait to join their ranks. Why is the end SO HARD???

Well, yesterday turned out to be a decent day. We had a visit with our mw, which was really uneventful. Babe is great, although slightly OT. She usually rotates from ROT to ROA pretty frequently so I wasn't surprised. Wt. gain is good, BP was good, although my hemoglobin is right on the border. I was going to have her strip my membranes but decided against it, mostly b/c it was a bad way to start labor with one of my boys. With as over it as I am, I know she'll be here soon enough.

Not much on tap for today. My mom and mil are taking the kids out for the day so I can rest. It'll be good not to be a watched pot all day.

good morning. we are going to Maine today for shopping at outlets. i have to remember not to purchase clothing for baby b/c he really already has too much. lol! i need to simply get stuff for ds3 that can be passed down and used more than once (this is very likely the last baby).

other than that, not much happening. the house is not staying as clean as i would like for it too but every day i keep wanting it "labor ready" and really...thats getting old for everyone. the baby is not going to see the dust under teh electronics when he is born. i need to let that go. lol!

hope everyone has a good day and got a good nights rest.

oh, and i have to put someone on ignore on my IM list right now. 2 nights ago she told me about her placenta abruption ending in a c/s and last night she told me about a still born. i just cant believe some ppl have such tact (or lack of it i guess).

off to shower and get ready to LEAVE THE FRAKING HOUSE!!! lol!

Hello all! Doctor and I set the induction date for Sunday night. I have had 2 good induction experiences and natural births with the 3 children I have. The baby will be 38 weeks on Monday. Can you say a prayer for me? Thanks.

The NST showed that baby wasnt as happy on Thursday. It wasnt deep distress, but my blood sugar was 79 and baby didnt like that. I started feeling faint and stuff. So I ate and the baby's heartrate returned to normal. It was scary, but praise God it did get better. I have GD and my sugar has all of a sudden been dropping and I feel funny between 70-90 with my blood sugar. My doctor encouraged me to eat more carbs, baby might need more right now instead of less. I am hoping that baby is ready to come out! I hae been having some prodromal labor, and I am50% effaced but only a fingertip dilated. My uterus seems to be irratable and responisve to EPO, and red raspberry tea usually. Have a wonderful weekend!

I am still here and pregnant! Today is my due date! Man there are so many baby announcements today. I feel very joyful about it, but also a little jealous :

Today we are unpacking our office, repotting veggie plants, washing the dogs (yes, they are feeling the effects of my nesting too, ha ha) and going to a midwife appt. We are bringing her tub back because apparently we won't be needing it anytime soon, but her client who is just 37 wks might. Oh well, I always had the feeling I would go really late, I should just accept it.

PW-have fun shopping!
BDD-Hopefully some birth vibes will blow this way soon!
herbsgirl-i wish you the best birth possible. Sorry you are having sugar problems, that must be a worrying. Sounds like your body is getting ready though.

Totally happy for everyone with their LO's but like farmerjess said a tad jealous also!

My DP is off planting wheat and will be gone all day "unless something exciting happens" as he states it. I told him not to plan on it. As much as I would love for that to happen. Church tomorrow I am going to be barraged with 'You are still pregnant?! WHERE'S THE BABY?" I have already formulated my reply "This baby wants to be fashionably late!" I am keeping it upbeat and also have the come back that most first timers go 5-10 days over their EDD.

I think both sides of the family are antsy beyond belief as well but you know what---this baby will come in it's own good time. My midwife has been very assuring. I love how emotionally supportive midwives are trained to be. We pregnant mamas need it most at this point I think.

Sometimes I worry about the baby--I just pray that God protects it these last few days/weeks.

I never ever realized just how hard the last few weeks are! Seriously!!! These are driving me nuts. We shall get through.

Still pregnant this morning, though contractions woke me up a few times last night. I'm also either in the middle of a nasty IBS episode or my body just wants everything cleaned out - whatever way, it's not nice. I can't sleep on my left side because it makes me go into terrible intestinal cramps, and I woke up with my left leg more swollen than the right. *sigh* Isn't end of pregnancy fun? On top of everything, I over-did it with the cleaning yesterday and my right arm is back to hurting. Not as bad as it was initially, but pretty darn uncomfortable.

Well, just wanted to post a quick update before heading off to do a little last minute shopping. Need to pick up some supplies for when I go back to work - milk storage bags, bottles, cooler - and all that fun stuff. I also need more OxiClean. Trying to soak DS's onesies from when he was a baby is taking a lot more than I thought! I still have towels and washcloths to treat.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Still pregnant... Still here. Bored off my butt. Got my last doula meeting before the baby's born today. So now I gotta go clean *pouts* And this is my last weekend to relax before she's born also bc my mom has my son til Monday. Better enjoy it before my life gets wonderfully chaotic again

Not much to say, so I'm making this short & sweet, lol. Ya'll ladies have a great day!!

Another still pregnant one here. Dh and I did lots of cleaning and decluttering last night, and we're doing more today. It's amazing how much crap you can accumulate in such a short time!! And I have a bad habit of wanting to hold on to everything, as does dh, so there's lots to go through, even though we've already gone through so much! I want to go apple picking later, too. I would also like to finish ds' hat that I'm knitting, even though the last few days have been warm.. grr, I want the nice & cool Fall weather back!

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and that we get some more babies!!

Still pregnant over here too. Still hoping for tomorrow night, after a friend's wedding shower. Turns out the husbandperson (a teacher) is hoping for tomorrow night too, so he has an excuse to not do parent/teacher conferences on Monday night.

Yesterday he was off work, and we were incredibly productive! The car is detailed (but the upholstery is still wet, so we haven't installed the carseat yet). The living room is clean and rearranged. The crib is assembled and set up in our room (just no sheets yet 'cause the mattress needs to air out). There are a few more things I'd like to get done around the house, but they're little things that won't overly matter if they sit awhile.

You know, I get that people are just trying to make conversation when they see a pregnant woman and ask "Haven't you had that baby yet?!" but do they really not realize just how stupid of a question that is?!

Morning ladies!!

PW - Definitely put that person on ignore!!! I can't believe where some people's minds are - why on earth would you want to hear horror stories right now?!?

Farmerjess - I totally get you. So happy for all the other Mommas now snuggling their babes... but I want mine!!!

Herbsgirl - I'll be thinking of you tomorrow night!!! Good luck!

Lee - I know right? As if they can't tell you're still obviously pregnant with the huge belly so they have to ask!

AAM: Maybe TMI, but I've been terribly constipated for over a week - until yesterday and today! I've been cleaning out! Feels SO much better!!! *sighs relief* Been noticing more BH that end with crampy feelings too which I've decided must be more productive than either on their own. Some of them have taken my breath away, not b/c they're painful but b/c my belly is so tight all of a sudden.

Dh is out playing disc golf this morning, but he promised to spend the rest of the weekend with me. He's been trying to play for weeks now and plans have fallen through, so I didn't have the heart to tell him "Nooo, I'm too lonely... hang out with meeeeee!" like I wanted to.

Completely out of the blue Dh now has a feeling that we're having a boy! Neither of us have had any feelings one way or the other this whole time, but he says he has a really strong one now. Guess we'll see relatively soon!

Still pregnant here too. I am just hitting 38 weeks, so I should not be as antsy as I am, but well... I am!!

My cat had her kittens last night, and that was a lot of fun. She had three, they are super cute. The biggest of the litter was breech and she had to work hard to get him out. After he came the little runt of the litter fell out right behind him. She is a good mommy and nursing and loving her babies!! I am so proud of her!!

I saw my midwife yesterday, and everything is in order. She said I need to call her the second I think all these contractions are different. Since my first labor with dd was pretty quick and easy, and I have been contracting for 2 weeks now... she seems hopeful that I may go quick!!! That made me feel good

Hi ladies! Just wanted to tell you to hang in there - you'll go soon! I'm good- not losing as much sleep as i thought. sore, sore bbs though!
Heather, I'm even envious of your cat now! I'm just soooo ready to be a mommy again too. It's so much easier once you have your body back and the baby on the outside. I REALLY want to sleep on my belly again! I haven't gotten good sleep in 9 months!!! Wonder if we'll all gestate until the full moon and then BAM...20 birth announcements at once?!?! How crazy would that be. My mom and aunt are coming to visit for today and tomorrow. I hope I don't go into labor because I'll feel a little bad about booting them out and sending them back home At least it's only and hour and a half drive for them! They help occupy my toddler. She seems to be getting antsy too. It's been raining the past two days. Carolina was born on a rainy day so I thought maybe that was a sign....but nothing yet! I hope that you all have a fabulous day
post #14 of 25
I started taking EPO last night (vaginally and orally) just to hopefully get things stirring! Esp. since my midwife guesstimated last week at my 38 week visit that DS is around 8.5 pounds...I figure he must be ready to go!
I am going to sleep each night with my hypno cds and labor ambient music playing and feel so ready!
If he could come on Monday or Tuesday, I would be so happy. Monday is my father's birthday and Tuesday is the full moon.
I am getting so uncomfortable and yesterday, just driving to the grocery for a few items wiped me out for the rest of the day...could hardly walk.
I must admit reading about everyone's great birth stories is making me want this baby to come on out!
ELVs to us all! :

It's so exciting to log on here everyday and reply to all the birth announcements! I feel like I can't keep up! All you mamas who are still waiting, the end is near! : to those who need them. s if it's a hard day in your part of the world.
I really thought today might have been the day but it's looking unlikely now ... not even prodromal labour to keep me guessing.

I'm trying to be relaxed about it ... after all my guessdate isn't even until Monday and I went +12 with DS and +7 with DD but I really had a feeling and it's a bit gutting to realise my mothering instinct was sooo out. :

Oh well : to any other mamas waiting and : to anyone for whom the waiting is nearly over.
Hah. I'll admit to be very very glad to see so many mamas "still waiting" - it was beginning to feel like everyone was having their LO's. But I hope you mamas who are overdue have your babes soon!

I think my crummy Thurs and Fri were really related to DH not being here - I think I'm just really wanting the comfort of him being near (even though is work is just a few blocks away!) I say that because today was a really great day and I've felt great physically too.

I gave DH and the boys haircuts today since it will probably be awhile before I feel up to it again.

Then we took the kids to a farm/orchard to pick apples and pumpkins and that was a lot of fun. Then we went out to a family buffet for lunch and I loved that - not having to cook and getting to pick food I *really* wanted but don't normally get (like mac n cheese and hot rolls) - since we are a gluten free house for DH

We went to the local car wash place and DH took the middle seat out of the van. We gave it a good vacuuming then he put it back in and we installed the baby's car seat. Then we took the van through the touch-free car wash just to make it look nice My dad always took meticulous car of our family's vehicles so it gives me huge amounts of comfort to see a very clean interior and exterior to our car. And I'm so happy to have the infant seat ready to go!

We then went to a nature trail and walked for quite awhile. That was nice. DH snapped some topless profile shots of me against a tree which look nice and I'll post links in the belly pic thread. It was fun because we did them really quick in case someone else came walking along the trail... felt like I was a teenager again

Then we finally headed home and the kids and DH played/worked in the yard a bit and I worked around the house some. Nesting is still in full force.

But today was a wonderful day for me and I'm so glad I was able to enjoy it after feeling so crummy the past couple of days. And it helps so much to be pretty busy. Planning to get a good nap in tomorrow to help make up for no nap today though!

Not much time to keep up but I wanted to say hi and wish all those still waiting good luck.

I am SO done being pregnant it just hit me today. I was walking in the grocery store and I got these stabing cramps at the bottom of my belly just above my pelvis. I actaully saw stars I was so glad my 13yr old was with me. Nothing more tahn average bhs today. I see my OB Tuesday. I swear this little guy has had a substancial weight/lenght increase in teh past 48hrs. Thats my wine for the day. DH is playing in a golf tourny tomorrow ( about 35 min away) with the president of his company. He said he will kep his cell phone on.

Oh a good note a super good friend gave me her Medela PIS and I got new parts/tubing and it works FANTASTIC. I was trying it out hoping it would stir some things up.

I've been having crampy contractions all day, but they're not getting any more intense and they're very irregular - definitely making me live up to my username! : I was *really* hoping the baby would decide to come tonight sometime, since we have a family gathering tomorrow with my parents and some other relatives, and I *really* don't want to go. : I just know I'll get asked a ton of questions the whole time (you're still pregnant?!, at what point will you talk about inducing, so tell me again about what will go on at your :, I bet you can't wait to have that baby....), and I just don't want to deal with it.

Sorry to be so negative, but that's just where I'm at right now. Congratulations to everyone who's posted a birth announcement! ::
