My 32 weekers

My baby boy A and baby girl M were born last weekend at 32 weeks.

It was very quick!!!

Just got home today and am completely absorbed with expressing, but brief details:

I woke up in the morning to a show and once up the contractions increased quite swiftly. At the hospital they scanned to see an oblique breech and breech presentation. Lots of c section talk. I explained I'd like to wait and see how we progressed. At 4-5 cm dilation just spine could be felt, at 7-8cms we had a little bit of scrotum, but still mainly spine. I got on all fours and stayed that way and soon we had a breech boy arrive fully in the membranes followed 4 minutes later by his sister, also breech, but her sac burst as the body came through.

So many more details, so hopefully I'll get a moment to write it up in more detail this week.

Baby boy A is doing really well, in clothes in an open crib on full milk feeds by tube - he suckled this morning :

Baby girl M has a heart murmur and some apnoea attacks, but is also on full milk feeds by tube now. She settled into an incubator today rather than the open warmer that she's been on since birth, ( they didn't have enough incubators!!!), so God willing she'll catch up a bit with the extra protection.

I hope everyone is well. Have been thinking of you all and missing the board as I travelled this roller coaster with my little ones. So glad to have had your company over the past months to support the attitude I needed to be an advocate for my babies at this time.

xxxxxxx

Wow, congratulations. I don't think many hospitals in Canada or the US would do a vag birth for 32 week breech twins. Well done, mama!!

In the US...I think maybe none. How wonderful that you got to avoid a c-section! I hope you have a very short and uneventful NICU stay. Congratulations!!!!

Congratulations and welcome little ones! I hope their NICU stay is as good as possible, and that they are soon home and thriving in your arms.

How wonderful to be born in the caul, too -- I've heard really cool things about that (protects sailors against drowning, etc.)... I wonder what wonderful things await your two littlest ones.

Welcome! Keep us posted....
