I've only down bottom up hats, which I've gifted to whoever would fit them. But now I want to make a hat for DH for the winter, and am thinking a top down would be easier to be sure it fit on him. He's indicating a preference for an earflap hat, and digging through ravelry, none of them seem to be top down. I really like the look of the Manly Hat, or a couple of the ones with I-cord bind off around the brim, but none of them seem to be top down either. Am I stuck doing bottom up, or does anyone know of a pattern like this?
