Hi Ladies!
Our little babe, Julien Thomas, as born on 10/10 at 9:24 a.m. after about 13 hours of labor. He was 9 pounds, 5 ounces, and 21 inches long. He's beautiful and healthy, and is doing great.

I started having regular contractions Thursday afternoon, and around 8 p.m.
I had a pretty strong one and thought I peed my pants a little. Well, it turns out my water broke! I had little mini-gushes here and there as the contractions intensified.
We went to the hospital around 12:30 a.m., and I was a little surprised that they said I was only 4 cm (since I knew I was already 3 cm before labor began). But things went really fast from there, and by around 3 a.m. I was 9 cm. I was managing the pain very well, although I was shaking hard and in intense pain during contractions.
Things kind of stalled out a bit at that point, and I was getting really excruciating pain in my right hip and back. The nurse checked me and determined that the baby was posterior and the head was still up a little high. The OB also was concerned that if the baby was any larger than my other kids, I might not be able to deliver him or her vaginally unless the position changed. At that point, I decided to get an epidural, because I was having a very hard time allowing my body to relax and I was worried that if I got too tired or tense I might not be able to birth the baby without interventions.
I got the epidural and after the pain got better, the nurse helped my try different positions to try to get the baby to corkscrew around a little. The baby finally descended far enough to try pushing around 8:00 a.m., but was still posterior. They had turned the epidural down to the point that I was pretty uncomfortable again, and I started to feel the urge to push. It took a little while to get the head under my pubic bone, and it seriously felt like I was going to get torn in half. But I pushed with all my might and little man's head came through. Then his body turned and he was born.
The OB immediately gave me the baby and I sobbed and held my sweet bundle. It was wonderful that they didn't push me to hand him over for any kind of exam or anything. We just cuddled and cried tears of joy.
