ELV's to all the Mommas who seem to be feeling the full moon already! Hope this is it for you!!! :

Carrie - you and Nora will definitely be in my thoughts today!!!

Skrimpy - I wouldn't just flat out loan your Mom your car either. If she has something specific to do, then yeah. But to be without a car with a newborn (and I'm in a town where I can walk anywhere, including the hospital, within 10 minutes) just freaks me out. I'm honestly a little shocked she asked!

AAM: I'm seriously grumpy today. Get ready for some ranting!!!

It started out at 5:30 when the cat was making a ruckus to be fed and Dh was ignoring him b/c Dh had to get up at 6 and he wanted his last 1/2 hour apparently. So *I* heaved my butt out of bed and walked out into the living room... right into cat puke! : Since I'm not exactly graceful it got everywhere as I tried to recover from almost falling on my butt and freaking out at this cold slimy STUFF clinging to my foot. Then I had to try and clean it all out of the carpet, but I mashed it in pretty good in some spots (it's not like I can hop on one foot at this point!!!).

Then when I finally woke up this morning and went into the kitchen, I found that Dh, who was the last to be in there eating last night, left a TON of dishes without rinsing them so now there's food plastered and dried all over them. And a brand new bag of tortilla chips just sitting open getting stale. :

Dh told me yesterday that unless the roof is ready to go for the roofers by the time the baby is born, he won't be taking any time off. : The 2 weeks he SAID he'd take off has slowly been shrinking, but now he says if it's not done he'll be back at work the next day... and he'll "see the baby at night" until it's done and THEN he'll take time off. I told him I'd steal and hide his keys. He thought I was joking. I'm so not! It's not even the owners of the house that are being insensitive, he's making this decision all on his own to keep his own deadline. : So, unless I go past my due date, this will be an issue.

And finally, if ONE MORE PERSON tells me "Yeah, you just don't look done yet!" I'm going to So, the fact that I don't look completely and utterly miserable means I'm not going to have my baby any time soon?!? I'm done, I tell ya!! I'd LOVE to have this baby soon! I want my hips to stop hurting, the heartburn to stop, I want to sleep on my belly just ONCE, I want to snuggle my little one, I want to find out if it's a boy or a girl... but since I'm trying to stay positive and not complain and my face doesn't have that "haggard end of pregnancy" look to it, you all think I'm not going to have my baby soon?! Arrrrrgggggggg!

Ok, phew! Thanks for listening to my morning rant. My goal for the day: get in a better mood by the time my midwives come over tonight!

UGH! I'm so sorry! I hope he's feeling better soon and that the LO stays put for the next day.

JBaxter, yuck! Hope it clears up soon.

Amber, I get you totally on the whole "you're not miserable yet" thing. Had a bridal shower for a friend yesterday, and had several people tell me I was so laid-back for being a touch overdue (40+3 today) and so calm and they were crazy by this point, etc. etc. And seriously? Want baby. Now, please. But even if I were all crazy insane miserable and grouchy I certainly wasn't going to show it at my friend's shower, sheesh!

I should probably reply to those on the first page since I've read it, but I don't have it in me, sorry folks.

Last night I felt rather blech and the braxton hicks contractions started earlier in the evening than usual and some were crampy and I dared to hope. : Stupid me. I find it rather odd and slightly messed up to be hoping for pain, yet hope I do.

Emily, I never reached the point of being done....I was never miserable....I never got as big as everyone thought (My MIL kept saying she was able to set a cup and saucer on my belly and I couldn't do that, hehe)......and I delivered 9 days early. It's crazy how people reason when they think your baby will come. Sheesh.

Holy pelvic pressure, Batman! I'm not feeling the contractions so much in the ab area or even cervical, but YEOWZA, the pelvic bones are feeling it now! Especially getting up to walk to the restroom or to get more water. Not comfy at all.

Of course, I know this also means things are moving along. Could be a while, days even, but at least we're moving! Now, if only my MW's office would call me back. I left a message for the nurse four hours ago, and really, I get that it's a Monday and the office is nuts on Mondays, but come ON already! My legs are looking like tree stumps!

Jeana - sorry to hear your little guy has strep! Hope it doesn't make its rounds and he's feeling better soon.

Good to hear you were never "done", Tara! Gives me hope. I mean seriously, I COULD start whining if that would make my baby come sooner! Lee, we're just not complaining enough!!!

Just want to wish all you mamas who are still waiting good luck. Hope everything goes great for each of you.

I haven't had a chance to read through every post, but I skimmed and will read more thoroughly soon!

I didn't sleep much last night.. woke up about an hour after I fell asleep wanting very badly Lucky Charms & a milky way.. which I did have Took a few hours to fall asleep, then of course ds woke up early, and woke me up.. I'm not quite as tired today, but I am very irritable. :

We went to Michael's today to get letters & a board to make Colin a name sign to match the baby's, dh thinks it's a cute idea to have them done the same and hang them on their bedroom doors Baby's is done and hanging, so I'll paint Colin's tonight so dh can glue the letters on & hang it up. We also went apple picking again & got a pumpkin. I made a yummy smelling apple pie (and I HATE apple pie!), first apple pie I've ever made, too. I have no clue who will eat it since none of us like it, but ds might, he's never had it before. I also need to gut the pumpkin so I can bake the seeds, yum! More cleaning and laundry today.. more sewing. More waiting..

Well shoot, if I knew THAT was all it took... Actually, my patience has been wearing a little thin, especially with my poor dogs, but it's definitely not a miserable-grouchy-I'm-horrible-to-be-around thing. Or if it is, everyone has been kind enough to not tell me so.

Ahem. I've had Lucky Charms for breakfast the past few days. And, I have a bag of chocolate covered raisins here on my desk that I'm slowly working on.

My mom is coming up after the birth for 2 weeks. She called last night to chat and mentioned something about wanting to borrow our van so she doesn't have to rent a car. She's staying close to our place but not with us since we don't have enough room in our very crowded little home! I understand her not wanting the cost completely but we are a 1 car family and I don't know that I feel comfortable with her having the van 2 weeks. I worry A. because this is a new town to her, and our weather conditions at that point could be snow/ice which she has never driven in. I also don't really want the van always gone at night in case we were to need it - if the babe is having breathing difficulties or something. Not that I think anything will happen but it's just the comfort of knowing car seat and vehicle are ready to go kwim?
There is no way I would give up our only vehicle for two weeks...you are right in thinking you will want the car there if things go wrong....plus what about things like grocery shopping and what not. If your mom is here to help you out then I would think having your dh pick her up in the mornings would be good enough...and if she needs to run out for a few hours one day here or there she can just go from your place can she not??

audsmaHappy 39 weeks to my due date buddy!!!

mommysaurusoooh sounds like things are happening...how exciting!!!

Jbaxter: Oh I hope Nathan gets over strep fast!!

Well, after not hearing from the MW's office before leaving work, I decided to call them on my way home. Apparently, the usual nurse had the day off and the one taking over her duties had misplaced my message. : The MW wanted me to come in right away to have my urine tested and BP checked, just to be sure it wasn't due to blood pressure. The edema is pretty bad, my BP isn't horrible, and the urine was clean.

However, while measuring me and checking position, she got this odd look on her face. Asked how I'd been feeling for the last few days, and if I'd noticed a lot of contractions getting closer together. I haven't, they've all been very irregular and annoying, and unless I was having intestinal cramps, none closer than 8 minutes. Apparently, I had a couple while she was checking me, but I really didn't feel them. Less than 5 minutes apart. Baby's head felt very low, so she wanted to do an internal. I was noticing a lot of pelvic pressure, and I have short fingers and can't check myself, so I consented.

Yep. 4 cm dialated, close to 5. Cervix is still a little thick by her standards, but baby is *almost* in position, but not quite enough. She's officially pulled me from work, but thinks I'll be having this baby before my appointment on Thursday. She's just slightly worried I didn't feel the contractions, so I'm taking it a bit easy for the evening, so maybe I'll pay closer attention. At least I was able to convince her not to send me straight to the hospital! Ah well, cuddles with my DS this evening, I guess! I don't think he'll complain one bit, he is quite the little cuddle monster.

Carrie, I've been thinking about you, Chris, and Nora all day. Update us when you can and of course my thoughts and prayers are always with you.

honestly, i dont think i "feel" 1/2 the ones i have. i think it all depends. you could certainly stay dilated at this level for weeks now.

i love cuddle monsters.
