I have a bunch of cards from special occasions like my wedding, birth of child, and other nice cards from other occasions like birthday etc. I'm looking for some creative ideas to put them to use or display them in some way as not to just have them buried and taking up room in a box. Most I don't mind cutting up some -although a few are very nice handmade ones that are best left as is. Any ideas? Thanks

Anybody? Somebody?
The only things I can come up with is making a collage like "thing" or putting a few in with our pictures. Seems like people would be doing more than that and I know everyone doesn't throw all their cards away. Do we really all have them sitting around in boxes? lol Really I don't care what your ideas are i just need some...

I've been saving mine in boxes. I have a feeling when we move to smaller space I'll pick a few and recycle the rest, there are so many already! I can really only think of collages, too. Tho, we did get a neat christmas ornament from a lady whose dh had passed and she went through all of the christmas cards they'd received & cut the picture side into different shapes (ours was a bell) and put them back to back & laced them together. There are other ornament ideas, lemme see if I can find one quick...

I made my sister a shadow box lidded box with her save the date shower and wedding invite. I used the whole wedding invite and then used ribbon and flowers from the beauqets(spelling) and pieces of the other ones plus tidbits of all the events deco to make a pretty 3d collage in the shadow frame lid. Then I added pics and other what nots in the box. You can find the boxes in craft stores. I hope I'm clear on the description! But you could make one of these and display and have a pretty box to put your other cards in.

For my wedding cards I got a separate photo album and put them all in there. When I get nostalgic and go back to look at the wedding photos, I pull out that album too. There are beautiful sentiments written in them, and it's a nice keepsake.
For Christmas cards there is a craft that I think is particularly nice. Here are a couple of links. This might be nice too if you do the same thing with old birthday cards and use them as a gift tag.

I usually cut up cards and put them in scrapbooks. Depending on the card, I might just cut out the handwritten part inside or use the cover as well.
