can't stop throwing up, when to call doctor??

I'm 7w3d pregnant. I've had terrible nausea for about a week, but today is worse.

I can't stop throwing up, can't keep even a sip of water down.

The worst part is the heartburn, at least when I'm throwing up I can't feel that.

I have my first nurse-midwife appt tomorrow at 1:00, but honestly I'm scared and in a considerable amount of pain.

At what point do you call the doctor or go tot eh hospital for vomitting with morning sickness?

I can't imagine making it until 1pm tomorrow....

You've got to go with your gut. But for me, I'd probably wait until tomorrow since you already have an appt.

Do you think there's anyway you could get something down and then fall asleep? And maybe call in sick to work tomorrow?

I hope you're feeling better soon!

No, I can't get anything down. Nothing. A soda cracker makes me puke.

I'm going to try and wait until tomorrow, but I can't imagine.

Don't work, but have a 4yo to take care of.

call them... they can call in some phenegran (sP?) to help your stomach calm down.

Thank you. I did and they called it in. DH is on his way to pick it up.

I'm glad you called. I started vomiting on a Thursday night and we called the office the next morning (I also couldn't even keep water down) and it took them almost ALL DAY Friday to get my prescription called in. Gah. It was awful.

It helped me when I stopped trying to eat or drink anything before noon. W/ DD1 I couldn't even try to eat/drink w/o puking before noon through the first half of the preg, so I just stopped trying, I just made it to noon and then tried sometimes it worked, sometimes I had to wait later.

Yeah, I went through a fun 52 hour span of time where I couldn't keep anything down over the Fourth of July weekend and that was when I finally requested Zofran. It's been a lifesaver, especially since I still have to take it to get through most days without vomiting.

Check out the Hyperemesis/Extreme NV tribe. Maybe you're going through HG, maybe it's "just" extreme NV, but having support helps.
