I was a frequent poster towards the end of my pregnancy, and this board got me through.
Miles Jason was born October 11th, 9:33pm, after an incredibly long, hard labor. Active labor was 24 solid hours. We transitioned from laboring at home to the hospital, and I arrived at 7cm. My CNM and doula were amazing!! It was an ideal hospital/natural birth. I was in transition for four- five hours, with contractions all of 30 seconds to a minute apart the whole time. I honestly thought I was going to go insane. I kept telling my husband "please help me - I'm cracking." It was a very trying psychological experience. I begged for an epidural at 9cm, but my awesome DH told me over and over "you dont want it - you are so close." I am so glad he did that... 2 hours later, I was able to squat, lights dimmed, music playing (Tom petty Wildflowers came on as he was crowning!) with my husband behind me, a large mirror in front of us, and deliver my baby into my own hands. No tears, just a small skid mark.
He is perfect - 6lbs, 9oz. 19 inches. Dark olive skin and eyes. So handsome...
I will write out a birth story and post pics soon - hope everyone is well and healthy.
