I'm doing the Bernat skeleton sweater for my daughter. This is my first sweater.

I didn't realize until it was too late that I was supposed to decrease on the sides of the front for the armholes while working the chart pattern. I now have the chart pattern completed but should have taken the sides in by 4 sts on either side a few inches ago.

I REALLY don't want to undo the charted stuff. The glow in the dark yarn is fuzzy and unforgiving of errors.

Can I just sew in an extra bit of flap on the inside of the armhole when it comes time to attach? Or trim the excess off after the seaming (and make sure the seaming keeps the cutting from unravelling)?

Or is there another way to deal with this without undoing the top few inches of chart?

And this, in a nutshell, is why I usually stick to toys where the pieces are smaller and errors are shorter to correct!
