GRR! Yarn trouble/knitting with 3 strands

They keep twisting into a big mess.
I put each one in their own ziploc bag and zipped it shut with only enough room for the yarn to come out.

It still keeps twisting.

I'm making an afghan for my son's birthday. I've done 4 rows and I'm already annoyed!

I'm considering taking it apart and just rolling all 3 balls of yarn into one huge ball.

Any other ideas?

Have you tried putting them separately in jars? Like one ball in each jar. For some reason that has always worked better for me than any other method. Not sure why.

Otherwise, I got nothing. Sorry.

Break the yarn at the end of the row, wind the balls with all three strands together and keep going. If you think about it, you're adding more twist when you knit, so that's why it's getting tangled. Then weave the ends in later.

Well I only knit 4 rows anyway

I think that's what I'll do, but it's going to be a monster ball of yarn!
