How long after bloody show does labor usually start?

I was checked by my mw yesterday and my cervix is 3-4cm and 80% effaced. I had strong contractions for about 2 hours last night, but they fizzled out. Then I had gobs of bloody show this morning at 6am. My lower back is killing me and I'm nauseous, but my ctx are pretty much gone. :

I didn't even have any bloody show until mid-labor with dd1. I'm so confused! Anyone have this and not go into labor soon after?

I have no clue, I never had any blood show with ds. I hope that your contractions pick back up!

Sounds like maybe you dilated some more? I don't know, I've only had bloody show when in active labor. Hopefully it won't be long for you!!

I had my bloody show last Thurs... Still pregnant, lol.

I had bloody show a week and a half ago. Still preggars!

In my CBE class materials, it lists bloody show as a "preliminary" sign of labor (vs. "possible" and "definite"). As in, it could be very soon, but it's not a guarantee. I think it basically means dilation is happening when you get bloody show, so either way I think it's good news!

Oh no, over a week??! That's insane!

I'm starting to get ctx again, so I have hope maybe labor is just around the corner.

I had mine last Monday after an exam, too... it's very common then because your cervix is so sensitive... but I don't know if I will have more before labor starts or not.

^I always have bleeding after exams, and did again last night. What I had this morning was very, very different- I literally thought my water had broken, there was so much bloody show. I really thought it was something starting, but I'm not any closer to having a baby, so I guess not.

my bloody show was the morning labor started. it all began with a back ache at 7:30am, bloody show when i got up to pee (uterus so tight that it made me have to pee immediately) and i didnt feel what i considered ctx at all until about noon. hope something happens for you soon!

I had bloody show only the day I went into labor. It sounds like you are incredibly close.

my IRL friend called me with news of her bloody show on last sunday at 1pm ish. her son was born at 4:30 :

I've been having bloody show since Sunday...still no labor to speak of...supposedly, you're likely to go into labour within 3 days but of course could be weeks away too :
