I finished my first simple knitting project yesterday, a soft little bunny:

Yes, one ear is a little longer than other oops

I think I want to make my husband a scarf. What kind of yarn is best? Any other tips or easy simple beginner projects? Thanks!

That's so cute!!

In terms of yarn for a scarf, I'd look for a soft, soft wool, maybe something bulky so the piece doesn't take forever (which can be discouraging when you are first learning, IMO). I am working on a scarf in Rowan Big Wool that's super soft! And Ravelry is awesome for patterns...

That is so cute! You should be VERY proud. And the mistakes must be small cause I didn't see any. I have knitted a few items but haven't made any toys yet. I plan to though, for the holidays.

It's lovely!! And such a great first project!!

I just made my first scarf. I used a fingering weight yarn, and it still didn't take long at all, maybe a week of knitting at night.

My favorite beginning projects are simple felted bags. You can practices different stitches and your mistakes come out in the wash. (HA!)
