So, my hair is awful.

I used to have very straight, very thin, very silky hair. Now, its frizzy and course. I am also completely grey, at 31 (well, actually way before).

I had five kids in 10 years, so it could be hormonal.

I also have a mother and grandmother who were the same way, so it is probably genetic.

Or both.

I've heard there might be a possibility between the premature greying and heart disease - and something about hydrochloric acid. Both my paternal grandparents died in their early 50's of heart attacks. My mom is trying to be proactive, diet and exercise. She doesn't share much with me, but I know that much. She's 49.

I had long hair, then got it cut because I mistakenly told the hairdresser to cut off the dead parts. Well, she realized (8 inches later : ), it wasn't dead.

I hate the way my hair feels now. I want it to be soft and silky like it was before. I've tried different shampoos (natural, organic and regular), nothing I've tried made a difference.

Are there any home remedies to help? What's up with coconut oil? Is there a vitamin deficiency, maybe? Any ideas? BTDT stories?
