Not sure where to post this. I am looking for pictures of woman in labor in the early 1900-1970s where horrific labor practices were quite common (twilight labors, strapping women down and blindfolding etc.) I tried googling but came up with nothing. Anyone know of any links??

Depending on how serious you are about this, you might also consider contacting the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia. It's a museum of medical history and they have some amazing stuff there.

I seem to remember that Our Bodies, Our Selves has some pictures along that line.

ETA Photos from the Mutter Museum collection. Hard to tell if it has what you need, but maybe your library would have a copy.... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...wnandoutint-20

See the book "Birth: The surprising history of how we are born" by Tina Cassidy. She also has a blog site:

Have you seen Business of Being Born? They show some old footage. They actually mention in the documentary how difficult it was to find the old images. I get the sense that hospital birth was kept very secret. I don't think the husbands knew the wives were strapped down and out of their minds.

What are you using them for?

I'm planning on doing an in-depth blog about the recent history of Childbirth in America
