how long will Sucanat keep in a sealed bag?

I'm debating about whether it would be worth it to order a case (12) of 2 lb bags from my co-op while it's on sale. A 2 lb bag lasts me 1-2 months, so that much could potentially last 2 years. Anyone know if it will keep that long? I don't know why it wouldn't, but I'd hate to buy it and find it otherwise!

I've had mine for a loooong time, like over a year. We knew we would be moving and I had no idea if or where I'd find it at our new location so I stocked up (I think I got 10 lbs.). Anyway, we are slowly working our way through it. It seems the same as it was when it was new. How can you tell if it's not?

It's sugar. So long as you protect it from rodents and other pests, it should keep years.

I split a HUGE bulk quanitity and had it in a glass jar, it lasted years- like 5 at least.
it didn't go bad after that time, I just finally used it up.
