HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! HA HA HA HA HA HA!

You don't know me very well do you?

I'm the woman who hated college so much I couldn't even get myself to finish a BFA! I also have no desire to be anything other than a SAHM.

So yeah...lol. Not gonna happen.

ETA: But I'll certainly support any midwives who move here or anyone who decides to become one!

I'm another coming out of major lurkdom to say YAHHHHHHHH!!!!!::: I'm so excited about this! We want 2 more kiddos and my DH thinks that the 7,000 we'll save is going towards a supercharger for his car.....LOL....
Ummm NO.

I'm thrilled for all my friends who would love to have a MW but just can't afford it. They are all so excited! :::: :

Now we just need some more Uni./college programs and we'll be set!

A BFA?

Holly, I see you're due with your FIRST in a couple of weeks. Do you have a midwife picked out yet for your birth, now that they are covered?

I just LOVE your name

BFA: Bachelor of Fine Arts (I was emphasizing painting and drawing)

Midwives won't be covered until April 1st of 2009 (DH joked that maybe this announcement is just a massive April Fool's joke). So I'm stuck going to the local maternity clinic (ugh...hate that place). However we're planning on a large family. Hopefully we'll have a practicing midwife in town by the time I'm pregnant with #2.

Yeah...it's a good name, isn't it?

I just heard this too and am thrilled. I have sent so many letters, signed petitions, rallied, etc. so this is a long overdue celebration.

Wishing you happy, healthy and empowering birth vibes, HollyvanGogh.

Thanks! I'm a little sad that I'm not getting my homebirth *this* time. But I've got a great doula this time around and the future is bright!

I am so glad that it is covered too, but there isn't a midwife in my community or near bye. What a bummer!

The good news is that more will start practicing now that they'll be covered. There is no midwife in my town either...but I know of a lady who's entering training now.

do you know if is she with the midwives college of utah? there are a few of us scattered around alberta, but most are in the calgary area.

I'm really disappointed that they didn't offer it till now. Maybe this will be a kick in the arse for the rest of canada to fund it. How do you go about even petitioning for it in another province?
