Daily Chit Chat ~ Oct. 17th

Good day ladies. Well, it's actually midnight, but I can't sleep and I didn't want to post this on yesterday's thread....so I hope you don't mind that I started a new one!!!

Well, DH and I went to Costco tonight to restock our kitchen and walked a good bit. I got home and put everything away and went on a cleaning spree and made sure everything was set up incase I go into labor. So, I decided at 11:30 to get up and have some milk and cookies and wouldnt you know....I had a large trickle of fluid run down both legs....no popping noise and it wasn't a gush or anything...Do you think it was my water or did I really pee myself? It doesn't really smell at all.....hmmm I'm feeling crampy and my lower back hurts a bit. Could this be it?!? Should I go lay down? Probably so..... Just wanted to let you know what was going on incase I'm MIA for a while!!! I saw that some of you other momma's (Skrimpy and megan) might be in labor too....good luck to anyone else!!! lets birth some babies today!!

Sounds like your water broke Lee Ann! Try to get some rest--I tried but had to keep getting up to use the bathroom with loose BMs for the next hour and then contractions started.

ELV mama!!

Sounds like your water broke CM2B. I'd go back to bed otherwise you could be waiting awhile for cntx to start.

Bella Catalina- Congrats on the poopin and contx. Sounds promising.

ELVs to both of you ladies

I was lying in bed about a half hour ago and I felt a pop and pain and then a giant gush of fluid come out...all the way down the hall, more into the toilet and then strong contractions. Turns out I had no idea what a real contraction could be like. I'm just sitting here now after calling my midwife, on the birth ball. She told me to sleep, but contractions hurt more lying down. I'm excited but a little freaked out. Wish me luck.

Oh wow- its only 10:30 pm still the 16th- you gals are getting earlier and earlier to start the new threads!

I am so happy for y'all Carolina & Sarah : sending both of you ELVs!
Yay for water breaking!

We just got home from eating super crazy spicy Szechtuan food in the hopes it might spur my uterus to some labor action. Not sure though...I am pretty used to spicy eats already. Oh well, it tasted really good.
We also DTD today again using EPO as a lube.
Tomorrow after my NST test, I will be heading up to the Valley to get "the salad" at this cafe which supposedly induces labor. I will try anything apparently....

So excited for all you mamas that are going into labor. Can't wait to get back from the recorder's office for the birth certificate so I can read the announcements tomorrow.

How exciting to you ladies who are in labor! Can't wait to read some announcements. Good and easy labor wishes to you!!
Wow, sounds like a lot of promising labor signs! Can't wait for the baby announcements.

Me, I'm up with Elina who won't stop nursing and won't go to sleep. Too frustrating to lay in the bed this way so here I am on the computer, stalking those of you who might be in labor.

I'm doing the same. Sitting here pecking one handed, lol. My ds likes to marathon nurse in the late, late evening, but then he'll usually sleep a nice long stretch. He's usually out by now, but he's more wakeful tonight for some reason.
^^^ Yes, that! For some reason she picked the midnight hours to want nothing but the boob. Any other time of day she's a pretty mellow baby, but for these 2-3 hours it's boob or wailing lol. Same as your ds, afterward she sleeps a nice stretch. I am dying to hit the sack!

Me too. I'm so tired tonight.. the one night he stays up later than normal. It's strangely comforting to know someone else out there is up doing the same thing.;-)

Do you feel incredibly empty at this time of day. I feel like my supply is so gone right now. I know it's not, but the girls feel so empty after he nurses like this.

Yowsers! Two of you in labor already! Maybe this thread is a lucky thread??

I am done. By any and all counts, I am 41 weeks today (Friday) and I am done. I've got food cooling that will be put in the freezer soon, my house is as clean as it's gonna get without hiring professionals, and the few piddly things left to buy are by no means essentials. Now, I don't have my bag packed for the birth center (baby's is ready though), but I have plans to finish that tomorrow after my appointment. Or if all else fails, that's a good early labor project, right?!

Oh, and speaking of the food in the freezer, it appears that I am woefully incapable of putting food in freezer bags - be it chili or whole chicken breasts - without making quite a huge mess. On the plus side, I should have enough dinners for 2 weeks, by which time my parents should be down...

So exciting to hear about so many mamas going into labor! Last night I thought it could be the night, but no...here I am, unable to sleep, not having contractions any more. *sigh* I am not due until the 26th, but I think the last couple of nights of *maybe this is it!* have me DONE! I am one of those crazies who actually likes being preggo, but I want Ella to make her appearance so I can stop worrying about my BP. I have another mw appt today, and I'm actually hoping she'll do a cervical check (who have I become?!?!)...I just want to know if all the stuff I've been doing (EPO, RRL tea, DTD, acupuncture, acupressure) has been making ANY difference down there, lol!

In other news, I am officially addicted to baby wearing, and I don't even have a baby yet! I just got my Beco in the mail today, and I paid for a Storch Leo from TBW just a few minutes ago. These are in addition to my Mei Tai, my Moby, and my ring sling (mama-made from Once Upon a Child). DH doesn't understand why I *need* so many! Anyone else have this addiction???

Woo-hoo to Lee Ann & Sarah! Good luck!

I'm up super early... Got woken up to crampy contractions about an hour ago and couldn't get back to sleep. Haven't been timing them or anything, but they seem to be about 5 mins apart or thereabout anyway. Just started the timer, so I'm gonna see if my body's just being mean again (which it probably is, lol). If it is, I hope it at least doesn't put me through another 5 hours and then just crap out on me. Not getting my hopes up, but I am annoyed at being woke up at 3:30am, lol.

Went to my OB appt late yesterday afternoon. Everything still looks great. OB expects me to go overdue since I did with Christopher. Gained 1lb, putting me at 35-36lbs total. BP looking great. Asked about what he wants to do if I go overdue and he comforted me by pretty much telling me what I wanted to hear... Which is that he’ll do nothing until I hit 41 weeks and then it will just be a simple NST and US to check that the baby’s fine and a cervix check (1st one since I 1st found out I was pregnant, lol). And then we’ll go to or past 42 weeks if everything looks good. No talk of induction or anything... YAY! Just pretty much gonna lay back, relax, and let her decide when to come. No pressure Just the way I want it! I love him!

But yeah I'm just bored and trying to find something to do (ouch another contraction) since I can't get back to sleep. Tomorrow is gonna be a looooong day.

Hope you ladies have a wonderful day!!! Labor vibes to anyone who wants/needs them!!

Still here too! Last night my son played a great football game but they lost by a touchdown . I did my best jumping and screaming but no labor pains LOL. I DID on the other hand get about a palm full amount of clear thick sticky mucus I can only hope thats a good sign.
I want to put a great big yeah for Proctafoam with all the pressure from this little guy I was gifted with a hemmroid ( sorry if tmi) but that foam stuff really helps. (when through pre H , witch hasel etc) I just want to get through sunday now!

Amy Lynn: I am in the same boat as you right now!
I have been up for about an hour now with contrax and finally came out to the living room so I could time them. They seem to be holding up (at least an hour of them being continuous) and are every 3-4 minutes. I feel "pushy" pressure down below so am sitting on a towel and hoping..... *fingers crossed*
Maybe my dinner of Szechtuan did the trick.

He-he... I was just about to ask if the "pushy" pressure was normal :P I've never had contractions before so this is all new to me!! I'm such a newb, lmao! Mine aren't getting regular really... For a bit they were starting to at about 6 mins apart and then I got "off" ones at 4 mins, 8 mins, and 4 mins again. UGH! Called my doula and she told me to try and get back to sleep, so I just popped 2 benadryl and am going to TRY to anyway. I just hope my mind doesn't do it's wandering thing like usual bc that makes it impossible to nod off!! I have a feeling that I'm just being teased again and after 3 hours!!!

Good luck hon! Hope yours stays regular and you get you a baby out of it!!

Awww Amy I bet when you wake up later, you will be in full labor :!
I am feeling it---its in the air!
I am not feeling them as "back to back" as I was but baby is still really active. I definitely feel something is going on. *knocks on wood*
