I can't even begin to describe what I'm feeling right now...

14 HOURS and then nothing.

I was going good and steady til shortly before 2. It was 6 mins apart... i could predict the next contraction coming as soon as the one I was having ended. Then they started getting erratic. They would get closer together, then space out about 7 minutes. My doula came over to keep me company. We noticed that they pattern was going all over the place, so I pumped some to see if that helped. And it did. They were about 4-5 mins apart. We went for a walk and they got down to 3 mins apart... but the whole time I could walk through them and talk through them. Then they got haywire. 3 mins, then 6, then 3, then 6, then 10. Just wouldn't get into a groove. Finaly about 5:30 (14 hours after waking up with the contractions this morning) they just faded out to 10 mins apart and were completely stopped by 6:30. I ate and went to bed to get rest like my doula said... And now there's just nothing.

I want to cry. I want to scream. I want to just go away and wallow in pity. I really thought this was it. It lasted so long and the contractions were real. She was pushing down into my pelvis with such pressure. And now nothing.

Yeah so that's my update. No baby. Just me... still pregnant.

Amy Lynn, I'm so sorry you're having a rough time. That sounds incredibly frustrating. I'll be thinking of you and hoping that it was just round 1 of 2 and baby will be here soon! :

Hi

I FINALLY got internet at home! I just now noticed these daily posts LOL

EDD of 10/31 and actually hoping to hit it RIGHT ON as that is my mom's b-day.

Yesterday morning from 7-9-9:30 had some ctx. probably related to DTD the night before. I could fairly well tell this wasn't it from experience with DD, but called my CPM anyway because of course this would happen on the day she was planning on being about 5 hours away in the afternoon!

fortunately I called well in advance and we agreed to try me lying down, which they continued but quit when I got up after about 15 mins or so (her recommended length of laying down time) So she went ahead and went to her scheduled appointment and I had maybe like 2 ctx. the rest of the day.

Nothing today going on but some movement.

odd question for a 3rd timer but bear with me I was induced with the first and I don't remember with the 2nd if I noticed...what's a mucus plug look like when you lose it? Can it happen and not look at all plug-like? Or is this likely related to something else like yeast AGAIN or something?

curious....

hmm given the set of ctx. on 14 days out from EDD....by "DD timing" that would put him at being born probably on or VERY CLOSE to edd given...I know I went through about 2 weeks of ctx. happening like that with days between sessions......

though my MW warned me yesterday I could have several times of this or it could be the real deal, which is why she told me to change position and see what happened.....
And still that I could go through more sessions of prelabor like I did with S or the next time could be it LOL

and I may or may not "luck out" with a fast, easy delivery like I did with DD, which made all those stupid 4 AM pre-labor sessions worth it, to have the final "real deal" consist of 4 hours that I enjoyed with all around me at home (truly enjoyable, I decided to go to the hospital cause "now the whirlpool sounds good" )and one that consisted of getting to the hospital and a grand total of MAYBE five ctx. in the whirlpool I wanted so darn bad, where on ctx. 2 I asked "when is (my midwife) coming back?" and the nurses said "oh whenever you think you need" and after I got through ctx. 3 I ORDERED them to "GO GET HER! NOW" (I think my doula had to prod them along that I really was serious)
DD was born approximately 20 minutes later. And that was with a transfer out of that pool to the bed because I didn't really want to birth in that small tub.
(i sometimes wonder if it would've been faster without the move...but quite possibly too there was a reason I wanted out.)

I did not have TIME in her labor to think about wanting anything other than a totally natural birth.

Now that I've committed myself to a birth with no drug options--in another home but out of hospital with a CPM thanks to the lovely laws of MY home state :P-- I HOPE AND PRAY it goes just as easily and smoothly.........

it will, it will that's what I kept thinking with Sophia, I didn't think about drugs I thought about natural birth. I didn't think about anything other than us being able to nurse (her brother did not)

this baby will be more of the same. because I know we can do it.

nak

melanie - a mucous plug looks like snot...sometimes bloody. It can come in pieces or large chunks.

With my most recent birth this month, I only lost two tiny little bits of mine and then the rest came out all over babies head.

hmmm well I'd definently describe this as snot like LOL.

given yesterday's ctx it's possible.

I usually do this for a few days prior to going into real labor. As hard as it is going through it for days off and on, at least it usually means a nice short labor when it really hits and stays for good. All of mine that I've had days of prelabor have resulted in super quick and easy labors and births, like 2-3hrs start to finish. So, here's hoping you'll do the same!!
