They should rename "Medical News Today" to pharmaprop.com and get it over with. Totally shameless.

Somewhere I read (I think in the package inserts) that the flu vaccine manufacturer advised that pregnant women NOT get the flu shot and said that no studies had been done to show the effect on the fetus. This was a direct contridiction to what the CDC advises.
Anyone else remember reading this? |

bolding mine... did she actually say Columbia was a polio risk?
: Because there has been no wild polio in the western hemisphere in decades... last I checked Columbia was in South America....-Angela |

I will be getting a flu shot because I have respiratory issues, but I will be getting my shot from my OB's office. I don't have a regular doctor. In my state, pregnant women are among the groups given a mercury-free shot (I will, of course, double and triple check that at the office, too), but depending on where you live, you might have to ask for that to be ordered for you.

just a thought!

I was in the military with my first two babies and THEY didn't even recommend that a pregnant woman get a flu shot. Now, coming from people who don't give a rat's a** what they inject into your body, that says a lot!
