How long to see eczema when baby eats allergenic food?

So now my lo's eczema is returning. :

She had some breakouts a few weeks ago but I figure out they were from the xanthan gum, and they've mostly healed. But today her little cheeks have some red patches again. Luckily it didn't crack or weep either last week or now, so is really manageable. I guess my biggest fear, fourth only after Armageddon, nuclear war, or the death of a close family member, is that we didn't "heal" or discover our allergens, but Summer made the difference and with Fall and the onset of Winter, we will go back to the way we were. I swear if that is the case you guys will never hear from me again because I will not do it, I can't go through it again, I really, really can't

I know that when I eat something that triggers her, it is about 24 hours after that I see the effects on her. Now I don't know if that means it shows up in my milk 10 hours later, and she drinks that and shows the breakout 14 hours later, or if it shows up in my milk 20 hours later, and she drinks it then breaks out 4 hours later, kwim? So I wonder, if she eats something that causes a breakout, when would it show up??? What have your experiences been?

I've seen her face get red WHILE eating like the food aggravated her skin, but it would subside when she was finished, and not turn into eczema.

I wonder if she has an intolerance to something if it would be a cumulative effect so the amount of time after would depend on how much and how often she's been eating it.

She's had new coconut milk yogurt which has a lot of additives.

I've had the new coconut milk ice cream.

She had broccoli for the first time today, and it was immediately after that that her face looked like it has eczema back. But it couldn't have happened that fast from the broccoli, right?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Tracy

I wish I could figure out the eczema mystery too.

I have no advice or ideas for you.... just

Is coconut milk yogurt the only new food? If so I'd stop for a while and see what happens.

FWIW, I think that once you've already gotten her clear, it isn't very likely that her eczema will return as bad as it was. Two steps forward, one step back type of thing.

I honestly think that kids' eczema gets worse at this time of year because their immune systems are more stressed. It may be partly due to the weather, but probably more to do with the fact that they are fighting off more pathogens and viruses now and their immune systems are having trouble keeping up. Kids' eczema generally flares up when they get a cold/virus/sickness because eczema is partly an autoimmune issue (in addition to being a gut issue).

I don't think the broccoli would cause eczema immediately unless she is actually IgE to it, which isn't very likely although not impossible. Don't fret too much about not being totally healed. It takes a lot of time. You are healing, you're on the right path, that's what matters. I can't tell you how many times my dd has 'relapsed' during this whole ordeal. I know how you feel though. It is terrifying to see the eczema come back once its been gone. But remember that she's gotten better before and she will again.

Think positive! You won't go through that hell again. NO! NO! NO! Your body is healthier now. You've done so much work. Even if you face challenges, it won't. be. as. bad. I'm holding out all of my hope for you!

My ds's eczema cleared when I went on a TED 2 mths ago. When I reintro'd wheat, the spot came back slowly, but I think I noticed the slightest roughness by 24 hours, then more and more over the next day or two. I cut out wheat again, and it cleared in 2-3 days. Now, when I intro'd beans (chickpeas), the eczema took longer to clear. Like a week. I'm not sure why. It appeared within 24 hours of my consumption, though, just like wheat.

I would say, cut out the coconut. My dd was allergic to coconut, too. Though, I gave her coconut yogurt and ice cream (the Turtle Mountain stuff) for the past two days and she seems okay with it (we've been avoiding it for 2 yrs).

The broccoli could happen that fast, if it's IgE. When you say eczema, is it a contact rash or is it forming in another place?
