Can someone tell me How these momma's get their birth stories posted so fast???
Lucas Paul arrived on Sat the 11th @ 215A, he was 6 lbs 12 oz and 20 in long.
After spotting early that morning with lots of mucus I was encouraged and called my midwife to give her a heads-up that Maybe something was happening. She had swept my membranes the night before.
But, all the rest of that afternoon, nada. I went on two long walks with DD, drank my uber strong RRL tea, nipple stimulation, still nada. No blood, no mucus, no contractions.
I called her about 6p just to tell her nothing was happening and I was resigned to being pregnant the rest of my life.
I was cleaning the kitchen about 930p and realized I was having regular, very light, contractions, 9 min apart. I timed them out of sheer boredom for the next hour and a half. They stayed very light and went to 7 minutes apart. Still no blood or mucus.
I called my midwife at 1130p just to tell her about it, but, told her I didn't think it Could be labor as it just didn't hurt the way contractions 6 minutes apart should be and I'd had no show.
She said she was up anyway and would come check on baby and check me, just for kicks, lol. She got there about half hour later, said abby was fine and checked me.
I was 8/9 centimeters, so thin she could barely find the edge of the cervix and baby was loooow!!
She got her bag out of the car, lol! The assistant showed up not too long later (we didn't think she'd make it) and for the next two hours I stood in the living room and swayed and we all talked and laughed. It was wonderful.
The contractions got harder, but, never Hard. Toward the end I had just a couple that were a little intense with a lot of lower pressure. Then, I had an Almost pushing contraction.
My DP had been going back and forth between me and DD who kept waking up (her caretaker never showed when called, grrr). When I had the Almost pushing contraction the assistant went to get her. I held onto her neck and gave two pushes and my son was in my arms!
As it turned out DD woke up Again and watched me push her brother out from the safety of the assistants arms. She wasn't traumatized just intersted and pleased with it all.
So, 4 hours from start to finish, amazing!!
