Help, what would you like to receive made out of wine corks?

I'm getting 4 gallon size bags full of wine corks from freecycle! I'd love to make a gift(or more) from them. What do you think?

If you alternated their positioning, you could make a trivet.

I had a great big bulletin board made out of corks that I used for years. I originally used hot glue with it though, and had to keep replacing the corks as they fell out. The glue didn't cut it. But the board was great in the kitchen.

I really want to make some of these trolls, but I have no corks. I don't know if they'd make good gifts though.

A trivet would be the most versatile.
The other common project would be a bulletin board. I've always kind of wanted one, but it just doesn't fit in my house so it wouldn't make a great gift.

You could also use them to line a tray.

Ornaments with hanging tassels or beads. Also you could just diplay them on a board like a trivet, but make it a little bigger and hang it on the wall. You could line the bottom of a tray with them.

I've seen trivets/coasters made out of sliced corks and then wired together. If I can remember where I saw them, I'll come back and post a link.

I just saw a picture of corks and large pretty beads strung as garland.

It'd be cool if you could make thumb tacks for the bulleting board.

I have been collecting corks for years to make into a rug. I saw it in ReadyMade magazine a few years ago, and it was beautiful. They were sewn together, alternating spaces. It look s kinda like this one, which is made of flip flop pieces: http://www.re-modern.com/product/FF-MAT.html#
